00:05dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo wants to play it safe

00:09by remaining under the protection of the Philippine National Police

00:12or PNP custodial center in Camp Kramer.

00:15Even authorities want to keep the local chief executive safe

00:18as she has yet to face all the charges filed against her

00:21and is expected to appear before the ongoing Senate hearing

00:25where a barrage of questions from lawmakers eagerly await her.

00:48Inside the plane returning to the Philippines from Indonesia,

00:52dismissed Mayor Alice Guo was read her Miranda Rights

00:56in connection with two counts of Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act

01:00filed against her by the BILG for allegedly using her power as mayor

01:05to favor the permit and license of the raided Baufu compound in Bambantanlak.

01:14Afterwards, the PNP handcuffed Guo.

01:18Upon arrival in the Philippines, Guo was transferred

01:21to the PNP custodial center at Camp Kramer

01:24and had her mugshot taken as part of the booking procedure

01:28where her alleged real name, Guo Wa Ping, was listed.

01:35This noon, guarded by police, wrapped in a jacket and wearing a bulletproof vest,

01:41Guo appeared before RTC branch 109 in Kapastarlak which issued the arrest warrant.

01:47Guo's appearance in court was part of the process to personally show she had been arrested.

01:53According to Guo's lawyer, the former mayor did not post the P180,000 bail

01:59as temporary freedom was deemed useless since she is facing other complaints.

02:04Guo's camp will also file a motion in conjunction with the case.

02:24Because of this, Guo remains in court custody

02:28and based on the commitment order, Guo will remain detained at the PNP custodial center.

02:34Guo also feels safer in the custody of the PNP according to her lawyer

02:39who earlier said she received death threats.

02:43That's also what she said last night, that she's safe and secure where she is now.

02:48Because of this, the Senate will need to request the court to allow Guo

02:52to appear in hearings in relation to POGO operations in Bambantarlak and alleged human trafficking.

02:59But earlier, the court granted the appearance of Guo at the Senate hearing on Monday

03:05upon the request of Senator Risa Hontiveros.

03:08The PNP is ready to comply and provide security.

03:12So, prudence dictates that the PNP should deploy appropriate number of PNP personnel

03:18for purposes of transporting Alice Guo from the private hangar to the custodial facility

03:24and that will be the similar setup that we will do.

03:28As long as Alice Guo is in our custody, the PNP will provide the necessary security

03:35to ensure her safety also.

03:37The PNP then shared photos of Guo's detention facility.

03:41It is the same detention unit used by former Senator Laila de Lima

03:46when she was previously held at the PNP custodial center.

03:50Guo's ordinary room has a bed, a table, a chair, and a toilet.

03:55It does not have air conditioning and gadgets are not allowed.

03:59The PNP emphasized that there will be no special treatment for Guo.

04:05Meanwhile, DILG Secretary Benjur Abalos had an explanation on the wacky photo of him

04:12and PNP Chief Police General Romel Marvil with Guo.

04:16Abalos said they were having a discussion with Guo during that time regarding the alleged death threat.

04:23At that point, the PNP took a picture to have it documented.

04:27So, we looked at the camera.
