The Yorkshire Post was invited to stay at a cottage owned by the Castle Howard estate for a family staycation over the weekend.

The journey was just as sensational as the destination and with the narrow country roads and the charming buildings, the trip reminded me of the 2006 film The Holiday starring Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and Jack Black.

As part of the holiday cottage package, we were given complimentary Castle Howard tickets and a £20 gift voucher.

Here is a virtual tour of the cottage, village of Coneysthorpe where Bridgerton was filmed and Castle Howard.

No matter how many times I visit the stately home, I am still stunned by the incredible architectural design of the building.
