00:00The Maxi, National Museum of the Arts of the 21st century, has framed the conferment ceremony of the Honoris Causa degree in Economic Sciences to Marcello Cattani,
00:15President of Pharma Industria and Delegate Administrator of Sanofi, by the Pegasus Digital University of Multiversity,
00:24the first education group in Italy and the second in Europe, which has defined him as an entrepreneurial and innovative leader in the biopharmaceutical field,
00:33which has shaped the industrial panorama with his vision and commitment.
00:38It is a day of great emotions, this recognition by the Pegasus Digital University, I think it recognizes the contribution that through all my colleagues from Sanofi and Pharma Industria,
00:53we are able to give to the country's system, respect to the cures, to the drugs, and therefore today the cures are a value,
01:02they are an investment and have a direct impact on the economy of the nation.
01:07So this recognition in Economic Sciences, I think it closes the circle, at least compared to my path of study, which is all STEM, all scientific,
01:16because today when we talk about health, innovation, research and the possibility of cures, we automatically talk about economy.
01:23For the President of the Pegasus Digital University, this recognition is a point of contact between the Ateneo and scientific research.
01:31For us it is very important, it is the first honorary degree of the Pegasus University, we have chosen to award it to Marcello Cattani,
01:39who is an extraordinary leader in the pharmaceutical sector, I think there is a big point of contact.
01:45Pharmaceutical research is important for the country, working on innovation means investing in young people,
01:52and Ateneos like ours provide skills in all production sectors, even in the pharmaceutical field.
01:58This award to Marcello Cattani also testifies to the importance of the innovative spirit present in the digital Ateneos.
02:06Today, with this honorary degree, it has such an important exponent of such an important sector as the pharmaceutical one,
02:14with a role of leadership as a weight on the Italian export,
02:19it is a testimony of the fact that innovation, which is at the heart of our formula of digital universities, takes into account this spirit of the times.
02:28A strong link between institutions and pharma-industry, as underlines the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, presents the ceremony.
02:38We are working together with pharma-industry to allow a direct transition from university training to work.
02:50So the deep meaning of this day is from research to business, from training to work,
02:57also through the collaboration agreement that was stipulated at the beginning of the summer
03:04between pharma-industry, the Ministry of University and Research and the conference of the rectors of the Italian universities.
