00:00Edinburgh's The Black Ivy has once again won the Best Outdoor Area in Scotland prize at the Scottish Bar and Pub Awards 2024, marking two years of success for the bar.
00:13I paid a visit last week just to see what all the fuss was about.
00:17The terrace itself is really spacious and as you can see it's well covered with the awning.
00:22It's pretty private, there's plenty of foliage around the outside that hides you from passers-by.
00:28Although it does slightly block your views out into the street if you're a people watcher.
00:33I ordered a fresh orange and lemonade which was just perfect on a day like Friday.
00:38And of course a breakfast roll because it was still fairly early in the morning.
00:46There's plenty of entertainment as well, there's four TVs and when I was in there was a little bit of music playing in the background but the music wasn't too overpowering for conversation and that kind of thing.
00:56So all in, it is definitely worth a visit.
