00:00Train services across Wales have definitely seen better days. Many people have called for improved funding, and especially in the wake of HS2 and an alleged lack of funding for Wales as part of that project, train bosses are looking for ways of improving services.
00:17North Wales in particular has been one area that has been touted to have left out of funding and has seen a decline in passenger satisfaction from services.
00:27Transport for Wales have said that in an effort to get more trains in the north of the country, they will close four level crossings, which will allow more services to run given the added safety measures level crossings come with.
00:40It means that from 2026, three trains will run every hour instead of the current two, giving a big boost to the total capacity of trains across North Wales.
00:48Although many will see it as a lacklustre way of improving trains in the north, the plan is incredibly cost effective.
