00:17During the time of the dragons in Algecia, their riders ruled the land in peace and prosperity

00:22for the longest time.

00:24But as time went by, the riders' arrogance got the best of them, and they began to fight

00:29among themselves for power.

00:31Sensing their weakness, a young rider named Galbatorix came to power after destroying

00:36all dragonriders and dragons alike.

00:42Now the land of Algecia is ruled by King Galbatorix, who grows restless as his valuable stone is

00:47stolen from him, by a young girl named Aria, a princess of the elf kingdom, Elesmera, and

00:54the ally of the Varden, the freedom fighters who fled to the mountains after their rebellion

00:58was crushed by Galbatorix.

01:00Galbatorix gave the order to bring back what was stolen from him to his second in command,

01:05Durza, who is a ruthless, evil, dark sorcerer.

01:09He hunts her down and intercepts her in the middle of the forest.

01:12Durza's men shoot down Aria's two gods, and she is surrounded by a fire that was magically

01:17created by Durza.

01:19He asks her to give him the stone, promising to let her live, but she uses her magic to

01:23cast the stone far away.

01:25The stone appeared near a forest and was found by a poor farm boy named Aragon, who set out

01:30to hunt a deer.

01:31Aragon carries the stone to the town, and is about to trade it for some meat, but the

01:36butcher refuses to have it.

01:37Instead, he warns that it belongs to the king, and to put it back where he found it, or else

01:42the whole village will be in danger.

01:44Aragon returns to his uncle, Garrow, and his cousin, Roran, who is about to leave to serve

01:49in the army.

01:50Aragon decides the stone and talks with his cousin, who gives the news about his departure.

01:55Garrow asks him if he wishes to leave, but Aragon tells him he likes his life on the farm.

02:00The night after Roran left, the stone, later discovered to be a dragon egg, hatches into

02:05a small dragon.

02:07Excited to see the creature, Aragon touches it and triggers a magical reaction that alerts

02:12many people including Aria, who is captured in the dungeon of Durza.

02:16He comes to her room and asks her about it.

02:19But she was not willing to tell him, so he used his magic to see into her thoughts and

02:24discover the identity of the new rider.

02:26Aragon wakes up the next morning along with his dragon, and wakes up with a mark on his

02:31hand.

02:32At the same time, Galbatorix receives news from Durza, who undermines the situation,

02:36saying it hatched to a mere farm boy, but Galbatorix tells him that his enemies will

02:41have hope of challenging his rule if they hear about the new rider.

02:45He tasks Durza in dealing with Aragon, and warns him not to fail him.

02:49Durza uses his dark magic and summons the Rezak, dark creatures only loyal to him, and

02:54orders them to kill the rider.

02:56At night, Aragon goes into town, and hears Brom, a former dragonrider who is thought

03:01of as a drunk man who tells tales, talk about the time of dragonriders, and how Galbatoix

03:07betrayed all of the riders before him.

03:09Captivated by what he heard the previous night, Aragon goes out to the field with his small

03:14dragon the next day.

03:15He tried to make it fly, and after a few attempts, he was successful.

03:19The small dragon goes into the sky and disappears, but the mark on Aragon's hand is glowing.

03:24Then, the small dragon magically transformed into a young female dragon in the sky while

03:29she was flying.

03:33The dragon comes back and lands next to her rider.

03:36Aragon is scared at first, but he gets closer, and she communicates with him through his

03:40thoughts.

03:41She confirms what Brom is saying, and introduces herself as Sephira.

03:45That night, Aragon goes to visit Brom, and demands to know more about the dragons, but

03:50Brom dismisses him thinking he is just a naive boy.

03:53Then, after hearing some noise when passing through, Aragon approaches the house of the

03:57butcher and carefully looks inside.

03:59The Rezak were interrogating the butcher, who gave them the location of Gero's farm.

04:04Aragon runs as fast as he can to save his uncle, but Sephira grabs him and flies away.

04:10She tells him it was too late for his uncle, but he kept struggling with her.

04:14After being all over the place, Sephira puts him down at the far.

04:18Aragon discovers the body of his uncle, and unleashes his anger on Sephira, blaming her

04:22for Gero's death.

04:24He orders her to stay away, and she obeys.

04:27Shortly, Brom appears at the farm and discovers the true identity of Aragon after he tries

04:32to attack him.

04:33Brom senses the upcoming danger and tells him they should leave, but Aragon refuses

04:38to go anywhere until he buries his uncle.

04:41Brom quickly burns the body of his uncle, and warns Aragon about what will happen if

04:45both of them are found.

04:46Brom puts Aragon on a horse, and they ride into the forest.

04:50Aragon foolishly kept talking about taking on the Raza and killing Durza, but Brom pointed

04:55out the ridiculous idea of a 17-year-old taking on merciless killing spirits and an evil shade

05:01possessed by demonic spirits.

05:03Then he asks him to call his dragon, but Aragon tells him that she is probably far away.

05:08Brom, being a former dragonrider, tells Aragon not to lie, and reveals that he knows Aragon

05:14communicates with his dragons through his thoughts.

05:16Aragon calls Sephira and asks her to find them.

05:19She tells him she never left, and immediately arrives in the forest.

05:22Aragon apologizes for his outburst, and she accepts.

05:26Then Brom analyzes her stature, and deduces she is a fine young dragon who is ready for

05:31a ride.

05:32But Aragon is unwilling to ride her after his failure the last time.

05:35Brom tells him that a dragon will not hatch until it senses the presence of its riders,

05:40and the Varden are going to need riders if they are going to have any hope of defeating

05:44Durza and the king.

05:46Now that Aragon is a dragonrider, he has become the ultimate target, because if a dragon is

05:51killed, the rider can survive.

05:53But if a rider dies, so does his dragon.

05:56Because the easiest way for the king to destroy your dragon is to kill you.

06:00Meanwhile, Durza magically appears between his men, the Urgols, men with a large physical

06:05stature, who are guards of the king, and punishes their leader for letting the boy get away,

06:10and orders them to bring the boy's head.

06:12Brom and Aragon begin a five-day ride to reach the river town of Daret, as Sephira watches

06:18over them, and looks out for their enemies.

06:20In the middle of their ride, they hear screams of women, and they approach to see the Urgols

06:26terrorizing some farmers.

06:28Aragon wants to stop them, but Brom forbids him, saying he is not ready.

06:32When Aragon kept being stubborn, Brom prepared a training session to teach him a lesson,

06:37where he easily beat the overconfident young rider.

06:39In the very early morning, Brom and Aragon arrive at the village of Deryat, and leave

06:44the horses to travel on foot.

06:46Brom instructs Aragon to come back after getting some food, and not to speak with anyone.

06:51Aragon sees a young archer who wears a black cloak from afar, and enters one of the houses

06:55to escape, where he ends up meeting a fortune-telling witch, Angela, who offers to tell him about

07:00his future free of charge.

07:02She tells him about Arya and the dangerous path towards the future ahead.

07:06After leaving the house of the witch, Aragon is confronted by one of the Urgols, but Brom

07:10takes him out and scolds Aragon for disobeying him.

07:13More Urgols began hunting them, and they were about to be overrun, but Aragon uses the magical

07:18word of the Urgol, and kills them all with a blast of blue fire.

07:25But Aragon fell unconscious from the strain of the magic, and Sephira arrived to pick

07:30him up.

07:31He wakes up after seeing visions of Arya, and feels a terrible headache.

07:35Aragon asked him about what happened, and Brom told him that he instinctively used magic,

07:40which comes from the dragons and flows through riders.

07:43Brom told Aragon to use only magic as a last resort, and warned him against using it before

07:48learning to withstand the effect.

07:50Then, he teaches him some of the elven words to help him use the magic properly.

07:54Since the incident in the town, their path was not secretive, so Aragon had to learn

07:58to fly.

08:00He climbs on Sephira and rides her well.

08:02He uses magic to help him see what she sees and practices some moves.

08:06But the joy of flying doesn't last long.

08:09He spots some Rezaks who are about to attack Brom, and goes into the forest to help him.

08:13They help Brom kill the Rezaks, but Sephira sustains a minor injury.

08:17Brom helps fix his dragon, and scolds Aragon for endangering Sephira.

08:21Aragon later discovers Brom's secret, and confronts him about it.

08:25Brom reveals that he was once a rider, and his dragon was killed by Morzann, a rogue

08:29rider who allied himself with Galbatorix.

08:32Meanwhile, at Durza's dungeon, the leader of Urgals arrives to report their failure.

08:37Durza kills their leader, and sets a trap for Aragon.

08:40He casts some sort of spell that appears in Aragon's dream, which shows Arya calling

08:45for him.

08:46To avoid Brom's plea to see the big picture, and make Arya's sacrifice meaningful, Aragon

08:51decides to rescue her.

08:53He orders Sephira to ride, and they arrive at the dungeon.

08:56He uses the cover of the night to go in, and discovers Sephira, who warns him to leave

09:00her and go.

09:01But Durza appears at the gate, and gloats at Aragon's youth and inexperience.

09:06They fought each other, but Aragon was outmatched.

09:09Durza is about to pierce Aragon's heart with a spear, but Brom arrives and saves his life

09:14At the cost of being mortally wounded in the process, Aragon shoots an arrow into Durza's

09:18head, and he disappears as Arya gets free from the spell.

09:22Arya helps Aragon carry him, but they are about to be stopped by a couple of soldiers.

09:27With the help of Sephira and the Unknown Archer, the three of them get out of the dungeon.

09:32Brom spends his last moments telling Aragon that Durza is not dead, and the only way to

09:37kill him is to pierce him through his heart.

09:40Brom dies on the back of Sephira, who offers to give him prideful death by giving him one

09:45last ride.

09:46Although she is not yet able to breathe fire, Sephira breathes some kind of crystal on his

09:51tomb, which will preserve his body.

09:54After Brom's farewell, Aragon takes possession of Brom's magical sword, Zarok, which belonged

10:00to Morzann, and they prepare to continue their journey.

10:03Suddenly, Arya falls to the ground because of Durza's poisoning.

10:07She shows Aragon the way to Vardan and passes out.

10:10Aragon confronts the Unknown Archer, who was following them, and he reveals himself as

10:15Myrta.

10:16He offers to help Aragon, and leads them to the Vardan.

10:19At the same time, Durzan reports to King Galaptorix about the failure of the mission.

10:24Although Durza failed the first mission, the king was lenient, as he wanted to use this

10:28opportunity to destroy the Vardan once and for all.

10:32Therefore, he tasks Durzan to lead his army into their hideout.

10:36Aragon and Myrta are presented in front of Ajihad, the leader of the Vardan.

10:41Aragon proves himself by calling Sephira, who was carrying Arya, but Myrta gets arrested

10:46after Ajihad reveals that he is the son of Morza the Traitor.

10:50Ajihad takes Aragon to his armor, where he is joined by Arya, who has fully recovered

10:55and is dressed for battle.

10:56She helps him in wearing his armor, and shows him the armor the people have also prepared

11:00for Sephira.

11:02Every one of the Vardan's soldiers gets ready for battle, and the Urguls appear to begin

11:06the battle.

11:07Aragon gets rid of all his doubt and gets ready to join the battle with Sephira, who

11:11is now able to breathe fire.

11:16After the foot soldiers clash with the Urguls, Ajihad gives an order to Aragon, and he descends

11:21upon the enemies with Sephira, who burns most of the enemy soldiers.

11:25Although many soldiers kept being added, Sephira burned all of them and forced Durzan to join

11:30the battle.

11:31Myrta also joins the battle after freeing himself and proves himself to the Vardans

11:35by helping some of them in the battle.

11:37Durzan conjures up a dark dragon on his own and fights with Aragon.

11:41Sephira gets seriously injured in the process, but Aragon finally defeats Durzan when he

11:46finally pierces his heart, making an unexpected move.

11:49Aragon uses a dangerous spell and saves Sephira before he passes out.

11:56The next morning, Aragon wakes up to find a fully healed Sephira, who takes him to see

12:01Arya.

12:02Arya was already on her way to Elsimera to lead her people in the upcoming war.

12:06Aragon speaks with Arya and they depart from each other, promising to see each other again.

12:11At the end of the movie, Galbatorik slashes his hanging map of Alagaesha and reveals his

12:15black dragon.
