00:00The movie opens up with a flashback to the time when our protagonist, Victor, was a little
00:05boy.
00:06On one fateful day, he and his family get into an accident as their car falls off a
00:11bridge.
00:12Although Victor manages to survive, his father doesn't make it.
00:17In the present, a teenage Victor has nightmares about the accident and has developed a paralyzing
00:22fear of heights.
00:24One morning, he refuses to go to school because the students are being taken on an excursion
00:29to the nearby mountains.
00:31There, they plan to watch the solar eclipse, but Victor is afraid his phobia will kick
00:36in when they reach the top.
00:38However, his mom makes him change his mind by promising that his father will always be
00:43there to protect him.
00:45Meanwhile, one thousand years in the past, a shaman casts a spell that will help him
00:50find a powerful artifact named the Stone of Power.
00:54He plans to use it to rule the whole world.
00:58The fire in front of him forms the shape of a dragon head, which matches the image
01:03on Victor's jacket in the present day.
01:05In the meantime, Victor has fun on the excursion with his best friend, Vovchik.
01:10He's also brought a bunch of fireworks to light at the end of the day.
01:14On the other hand, Vovchik has brought a megaphone to fool around with.
01:18After walking through the forest for a while, the group reaches a bridge.
01:22However, Victor freezes in the middle of it because of his phobia.
01:26This forces Vovchik to drag him back to the start of the bridge, while the entire class
01:31laughs at him.
01:33Embarrassed, Victor runs into the forest and hides from everyone else near a cliff.
01:38Soon afterwards, Vovchik finds his friend and tries to console him.
01:42However, their chat is interrupted as the solar eclipse begins.
01:46Suddenly, a massive earthquake hits the area.
01:50Vovchik falls off the edge of the cliff and holds onto the rocks just in time.
01:56Victor wants to help him, but his phobia of heights keeps him frozen.
02:01And before he can muster the courage to do anything, a magical portal opens behind him
02:05and absorbs Victor along with Vovchik's megaphone.
02:10When Victor opens his eyes again, he finds himself on the same cliff, but one thousand
02:14years in the past.
02:16Nearby, there's a man in armor named Oleshko being attacked by a group of enemy soldiers
02:22called Cumans.
02:24Oleshko, being a crafty swordsman, defeats these soldiers easily.
02:28But things get complicated when he's attacked by their leader, Andek, who quickly overpowers
02:34him and brings more soldiers as backup.
02:37At that moment, Victor trips while trying to get a better look at the fight and accidentally
02:42activates the megaphone.
02:45This distracts the soldiers and gives Oleshko a chance to escape.
02:49Luckily, he has a horse and picks up Victor before the Cuman soldiers can get their hands
02:54on him.
02:55After a while, Victor and Oleshko reach a river, where the latter summons the water
02:59spirit to form a path for them to pass.
03:02This path disappears once they've crossed, forcing Andek and the Cumans to give up on
03:07the chase for the time being.
03:09Following this, Oleshko takes Victor to his village, which is protected by a stronghold.
03:15Victor's garments and way of talking are viewed as strange by the residents, and they
03:19fear he might be a spy.
03:22Hence, they throw him in prison until they decide what to do.
03:26Meanwhile, Andek goes to see the shaman to discuss the failure of their mission, but
03:31the shaman surprisingly reacts happily when he hears about the boy in weird clothes.
03:36He believes that Victor is the person that will guide them to the Stone of Power.
03:41Some time later, Victor is visited by Olenka, a young local girl who brings him milk and
03:46makes sure he's doing fine.
03:48Soon afterwards, Oleshko comes to pick him up and takes him to the river for a test.
03:53The water spirit will decide if he's a spy or if he's trustworthy.
03:58Once they reach the river, he is thrown into the water with his hands tied.
04:03But the river spirit considers him worthy and throws him out without hurting him.
04:08Victor is then accepted as one of the villagers and gets to meet the leaders properly.
04:13Among the leaders are the wise elder, Ovisi, and the fighters, Oleshko, Ilya, and Dobrynya.
04:20Suddenly, their names make Victor realize these are mighty knights that are described
04:25in ancient poems.
04:27He then claims that he's from a thousand years in the future.
04:31At first, they don't believe him, but when he uses his microphone, they are taken aback.
04:37Victor then asks for a way to return to his own time and Ovisi promises to look into it.
04:42Later in the evening, Oleshko comes with some news after talking to the river spirit.
04:47There is a way for Victor to return to the future, but for that, he will have to search
04:52for a mage who can teach him how to open the time portal by force.
04:56Fortunately, Oleshko knows where to find a mage.
05:00As the days pass, Victor spends his time in the village learning to use the sword and
05:04the bow.
05:05He also gets to see the stronghold's watchtower, which is so tall that it can help them keep
05:10an eye on the whole kingdom.
05:13Later he also meets Tuharin, a dim-witted Cuman prisoner who is kept inside a cage near
05:18the watchtower.
05:20After the training sessions are over, Victor leaves the village.
05:23He's on the lookout for the mage using a map that Oleshko had shown him.
05:27Fortunately, he comes across Olenka while she's gathering mushrooms, and convinces
05:32her to be his guide as she knows the area well.
05:35Without noticing the shaman's spy raven that's following them, the teens walk for a few hours
05:41until they enter a passage between two huge rock walls.
05:46Victor suddenly finds himself in a desolate land, which is an illusion cast by a mage
05:51who lives nearby.
05:53He can hear strange voices in his mind.
05:55The voices say that if he wants knowledge, he must confess his greatest fear without
06:00lying.
06:02Without hesitation, Victor shares the story of the car crash and his fear of heights.
06:07The mage approves of the boy for having accepted his weakness and shares the information he's
06:11looking for.
06:13He reveals that an artifact called the Stone of Power can help him open the portal to the
06:17future.
06:18However, when Victor asks where the stone can be found, the mage replies in a riddle.
06:24He says it can be found where the wingless make their nests and will be seen when Victor
06:30rides the wind.
06:32Only someone able to touch another heart with his own can reach the Stone of Power.
06:37As soon as the mage finishes saying the riddle, Victor returns to the forest with Olenka.
06:42When he shares the riddle, she guesses that the nest for the wingless must refer to a
06:46nearby village named Stork Village.
06:50A few hours later, the duo makes it to the village.
06:53Victor makes a kite on the spot and uses it to ride the wind, just like the riddle said.
06:59Soon afterwards, the kite automatically falls into a small pond nearby.
07:04He then jumps into the water, follows the string attached to the kite, and finally finds
07:09the Stone of Power.
07:11Unbeknownst to Victor, the shaman Spy Raven sees all of this and flies to tell his master.
07:17As soon as the news reaches the shaman, he sends a bunch of cumin soldiers to steal the
07:22stone.
07:23Just like he had hoped for, these ruthless warriors not only kidnap Victor and Olenka,
07:29but also light the Stork Village on fire.
07:32Fortunately, thanks to the watchtower, the soldiers at the stronghold learn about the
07:36attack and immediately send their warriors, led by Ilya, Dobrynya, and Oleshko.
07:43They beat up the cumins easily with their superior sword skills.
07:47When everybody gets back to the fortress after the victory, Ilya vows to direct Victor so
07:52he can find the portal that he came from.
07:55But Ovsi suggests they need to wait for a storm, because the god that made the stone
08:00was the Master of Thunder.
08:02He believes that only a storm can activate its power.
08:06Later, Victor follows Ovsi to his home and discovers the old man is trying to make a
08:11flying machine.
08:12The boy from the future takes the opportunity to teach him about aerodynamics using a paper
08:17plane as an example.
08:19From then on, Victor and Ovsi work together on making functional wings.
08:24In the next scene, Ovsi suggests that the best spot to hide the Stone of Power is on
08:29top of the watchtower.
08:31But when Victor refuses to go up there with him, he reminds the young boy that confronting
08:35one's fears is important.
08:38Soon afterwards, Victor and Ovsi manage to make it to the top, where the latter hides
08:42the stone under a pile of rocks.
08:45Unfortunately, the shaman sees all of this in his magical fire.
08:49A few hours later, a heavy hailstorm arrives.
08:53The big hailstones strike the captured Tuhairin in his cage, causing him great pain.
08:59Fortunately, Victor grabs some old sailcloth and covers the cage with it to protect the
09:04prisoner.
09:05That night, a flash of lightning hits the pile of rocks on top of the watchtower.
09:10The Stone of Power, along with other rocks, falls near the cage.
09:14Tuhairin cunningly uses the debris to break the lock and escape.
09:19He takes several things from the village, including the Stone of Power, along with other
09:24pieces of rocks, before fleeing.
09:27He then travels to the cumin camp, where the shaman notices Tuhairin has accidentally brought
09:32the Stone of Power.
09:34So he informs Andek that they'll now need the person who retrieved the stone to make
09:39it work.
09:40The next morning, people in the stronghold find out that Tuhairin and the stone are gone.
09:46Despite this, Victor and Ovsi concentrate on finishing the flying machine, because it's
09:50their only hope to recover the stone without a war.
09:54Some time later, Ovsi and Olenka go out to gather berries and some moss.
09:59There, they're ambushed by a group of Cumans that kidnap Olenka.
10:03Ovsi attempts to safeguard himself, but ends up getting injured.
10:08He somehow manages to make it to the village and tells everyone about what happened.
10:12But soon after, he succumbs to his injuries.
10:16On the other hand, Olenka is taken to Andek.
10:19He snatches a paper bird that Victor had given her and sends it to the stronghold with a
10:23raven.
10:24When Victor receives it, he decides to risk his life and set off to the cumin camp alone.
10:30There, he's asked to activate the stone if he wants Olenka to live.
10:35But Victor cleverly pulls out the fireworks from his bag, lights them, and throws them
10:40at the soldiers to create chaos.
10:43Unfortunately, before he and Olenka can escape, they're captured by Andek, who gives them
10:49a final chance to activate the stone.
10:52Victor doesn't know what to do until he recites the riddle in his head and realizes the heart-to-heart
10:58part means the magic of the human bond.
11:02He approaches Olenka and when they hold the stone together, the magic inside it finally
11:07comes to life.
11:09At this moment, Shaman snatches the stone away and Andek orders Tuhairin to kill the
11:15teenagers.
11:16However, Tuhairin can't bring himself to do it because he remembers how kind Victor had
11:21been to him.
11:22Instead, he frees the two prisoners and gets them a horse.
11:27The following morning, Victor and Olenka return to the stronghold and caution everybody about
11:32the approaching Cuman assault.
11:34The next day, along with the Cuman army comes a giant golem, a massive beast made out of
11:40rocks that the Shaman controls with the power of the stone.
11:44The beast takes a huge boulder and throws it at the stronghold gate, destroying it completely.
11:51Sensing the imminent danger, Oleshko leaves the stronghold and makes the golem chase him.
11:57He expertly dodges every slow attack until he makes the beast trip and fall into the
12:02river, where the water spirit captures it.
12:05At that moment, a new eclipse begins and Andek orders his army to attack the stronghold.
12:11However, the villagers bravely defend their home under the leadership of the three knights.
12:17When Andek realizes that he's about to lose, he decides to abandon the battle.
12:22But the Shaman manages to bring the golem out of the water for another attack.
12:27Seeing this, Victor plans to climb to the top of the watchtower and use the flying machine
12:32to get to the Shaman.
12:34Ovsi's words of support ring in his mind and help him overcome his fear, allowing Victor
12:40to climb on the flying machine and jump off the wall.
12:44The machine flies just as smoothly as he had hoped for.
12:48He soon lands on the cliff where the Shaman is standing.
12:52Victor then pushes him off to his death and finally recovers the Stone of Power.
12:57Unfortunately, Andek arrives at the cliff as well, intending to steal the stone.
13:03The two struggle for a while and Victor eventually throws it into the water to safeguard it.
13:08With the power of the stone now gone, the golem immediately disintegrates into ashes.
13:14Enraged that his plans have been foiled, Andek proceeds to launch his attack on Victor.
13:20But before he can do so, Oleshko arrives at the scene.
13:23The two men then engage in a fierce battle, and in the end, Andek falls to his death the
13:29same way the Shaman did.
13:31In the aftermath, Oleshko takes Victor to the forest where the magical portal is present,
13:37and as soon as Victor enters the portal, he is transported back to the present where Vovchik
13:42is still hanging on the edge of the cliff.
13:45Now that he isn't scared of heights anymore, he bravely manages to save his friend.
13:50This earns Victor an ovation from the rest of the class who are watching from the other
13:55side of the cliff.
13:56The movie then cuts to a year later, where Victor finds a heart-shaped stone in a nearby
14:01forest.
14:02He touches the stone, feeling Olenka's presence on the other side.
