00:00A family pastor Darius here, man, and I'm excited about this message you're about to to watch. It's a message actually on
00:07Vision Zig Ziglar says if you aim at nothing you hit every time
00:13Vision so important the Bible says if you don't have it you perish cast off restraint
00:18And this is why the enemy does everything he can to keep you unclear. I want to help you with that in this message
00:22I hope you're blessed by it. I have one request if it blesses you share it with somebody else. Take care
00:30Give the Lord a hand clap of praise
00:34While you're clapping make some noise welcome in I changed, New Jersey
00:39Family, come on go crazy for the place it all started
00:46Super super super grateful
00:48To celebrate this anniversary today
00:50And I think I think what's happening in this house is
00:55Something we all in terms of us celebrating this is something people like me and so many others could learn from
01:01Sometimes you just need to pause and reflect on God's goodness in your life
01:05Come on, say man to that church. And so we're just so grateful for all that. He's doing. I'm gonna jump into the word today
01:12I typically teach in series, but today's gonna be a stand-alone message. I'm actually starting a series next week called
01:19I'm too smart for this
01:21And so we're going to that we were in the book of Nahum last month we're going to the book of Proverbs
01:28Next month, but today there's something I think that's relevant to this occasion relevant to our lives
01:33I kind of want to speak into that
01:34so I'm gonna read a couple of verses scripture from the book of Joshua chapter number 14 beginning at verse number 11 and
01:41What you what I'm gonna be reading to you so that it makes sense is a small part of a conversation
01:47That a man named Caleb is having with a man named Joshua the book of Joshua
01:53Records what God does in Israel in his people through the leadership of the person that took over when Moses died
02:02Make sense if that makes sense say yes
02:05Okay, and so this is part of a conversation. I want you to see what happens here. Watch what Joshua says
02:10I mean Caleb says Caleb says this to Joshua
02:13I'm still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out
02:19Y'all need to know he's 80-something when he says this
02:23I'm just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then
02:29Now give me this hill country that the Lord promised me that day
02:35You yourself heard the Antichrist were there and their cities were large and fortified, but the Lord helping me
02:43I will drive them out
02:46Just as he said I want to stop the reading the scripture there
02:50We're gonna talk from this subject in our time together family every location. Here's the word for today. I can see clearly now
02:58Clap your hands everywhere all over the room
03:09Personal development specialists
03:13Christian
03:15trailblazer in
03:17the area of human potential named Zig Ziglar
03:21from Yazoo City, Mississippi
03:24Was once credited with a statement that salient to today's sermon. He says this family if you aim at nothing
03:32You hit every time
03:35Yeah
03:36This specific statement speaks to the danger of living life with determination, but no direction
03:44grinding with no GPS
03:47exerting effort without strategic
03:50intentionality this statement
03:52Subliminally speaks to the importance and the necessity of vision
03:59Somebody say vision
04:01No, say it with a kingdom attitude say vision
04:05Yeah, vision is a picture of God's preferred future
04:09It is a sneak preview of a coming attraction
04:13It's not the movie, but it's a trailer and the trailer in the whole movie
04:18But it's enough of the movie for you to see this about to be good
04:22and that ladies and gentlemen is is is in a real sense a
04:28Powerful picture of this concept called vision vision is so essential to our
04:35Evolution and advancement that the Bible says without a vision people perish
04:42One translation says without a vision people cast off restraint. They wander aimlessly
04:49They live impulsively. They operate without
04:53Intentionality and they get to the point where they're climbing the ladder of success and then they realize I've leaned this ladder
05:01against the wrong wall and
05:03The enemy understands the importance of vision
05:07I think in ways that believers don't and this is why he aggressively attempts to do all he can to keep
05:15you and I
05:17unclear
05:19Did you hear what I just said?
05:21Yeah
05:21If we jaywalk back to the book of Genesis you will see which reveals to us the first act of spiritual warfare
05:27One of the first things he did was try to confuse Eve
05:32Are y'all here?
05:33Yeah
05:34He said did God really say you shouldn't eat from the tree of the garden because confusion sometimes is an act of
05:42Spiritual warfare the enemy is afraid of you getting clear because he knows when you get clear
05:49You know what to say yes to and you know what to say no to he knows when you get clear
05:55You know what to accept and what to reject he knows when you get clear
06:01You know what standards are necessary for the accomplishing of your vision
06:08I need somebody to talk back to me in here today
06:11This is why the enemy
06:14Aggressively
06:15Attempts to keep us unclear because he knows the absence of clarity is expensive
06:26Being unclear is costly. It's costly PD. What does it cost me? The first thing it costs is speed
06:34You go slower when you're unclear come on because a lack of clarity
06:38Because a lack of clarity
06:40Infects us with indecisiveness and life moves at the speed of your decisions
06:46Where'd you get that from PD the Bible the Bible says the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord
06:52He delighted in his way and though he fall he shall not be utterly cast down for the Lord upholds him with his right hand
06:58Steps are not steps, but steps are systematic and sequential patterns of movement that move you from one place to another
07:06So your steps the steps that the Lord orders are not your feet God didn't control your feet. He controls your head
07:12He influences your head. Come on
07:14So your decisions are moving you from one place to another but if you're unclear you become indecisive
07:23Come on here, okay, let me see because I know some of you all you have perfected the fruit of the Spirit called temperance
07:30And so you've got major self-control so you never get agitated
07:35You never get irritated
07:38Especially when you're in traffic you are just
07:40Whoo, you are just godly and you are just patient. You're compassionate. Oh, they're going slow
07:47Maybe they have somewhere to go. That's
07:50Yeah, but some of us
07:53He's still
07:54Perfectly sanctifying
07:57That area and have you ever been behind someone and you got somewhere to go and you know
08:04where you going and
08:07You know how to get there, but you're behind somebody and they're just stopping and
08:15Their car has the ability to go faster
08:20But they cannot maximize their ability because they don't have clarity
08:25Because even when you could go faster, you can't go faster when you're unclear
08:34So a lack of clarity is costly it cost me speed
08:38Somebody say what else?
08:40That was weak every location say what else it not only cost me speed. It cost me sanity. I
08:49Know some of you have perfected peace and
08:53Your peace is impenetrable it's not fragile nothing ever disturbs your peace
09:00but for the few of us
09:04That's still
09:07Still are having our peace perfected. Here's what you got to admit the lack of clarity
09:12Listen to me can increase your anxiety
09:19Especially when you realize that you need to make a decision but not just a decision you need to make the right one
09:27Come
09:31On here and every decision in black and white good and evil some decisions are great
09:40So it's easy to make a decision when one's goods one bad, what do you do when both of them are good
09:46So I need to make a right decision but just because it's a good decision doesn't mean it's the right decision
09:51So I got anxiety about making the wrong decision because I need to make the right decision in this season
09:56But I don't know what decision is, right?
10:00It cost me speed
10:03It cost me sanity
10:05Somebody say what else?
10:08You know, I'm not letting you get away with that say what else?
10:11It cost me stability
10:17See if you aren't clear that where you are is where you supposed to be
10:23Then you can be as the Apostle Paul says tossed to and fro by every wind of
10:31Doctrine because the lack of clarity is expensive and so the enemy tries to keep us unclear
10:37And this is why one of our personal prayer points and prayer targets should be Lord. Keep me clear
10:43I know we pray for cars and cribs and clothes
10:47But one of the most powerful prayers we can pray is a prayer for clarity Lord make me clear
10:53I don't want to waste any more time. Make me clear. I don't want to miss the right opportunity. Make me clear
10:59I don't want to fall for a trap. Make me clear. I don't want to walk through a door. That's a trap door
11:04Make me clear. I don't want to sign the wrong deal. Make me clear
11:09I don't want to hire the wrong person make me clear. I don't want to marry the wrong person make me
11:17And
11:20If this is your sentiment
11:23If this is something you're serious about I don't even have time to bother this but but most
11:29Kingdom assets are assets that you don't get automatically. They must be pursued
11:36The stuff that you don't need come easy
11:40The stuff that you really need you got to pursue
11:44Come on here. Am I making sense? And so and so this is what like next week
11:49I'm gonna show you what a Bible talks about pursuing wisdom
11:54That you got to chase it that you got to turn over a rock for it that you come on here
12:00And the same thing applies family to clarity. So if you're serious about this sentiment
12:05Then I was reading something in the book of Joshua and I saw something about vision and clarity
12:11that I think is
12:13Extremely important and often overlooked
12:16See, we saw it right here in Joshua 14 this this text here exposes us
12:20I just told you between the conversation between two individuals one named Joshua and another named Caleb
12:27This conversation is happening after the manifestation of a vision
12:33So whenever there's a vision the season of announcement is not the season of fulfillment
12:39The season you see it not the season you get it
12:42And
12:45When it comes to vision there are two stages we all love we love the beginning
12:49That's when we see it. We love the end
12:53That's when we get it. But whether or not you get to the end in based on the beginning
12:57it's based on how you handle the middle and
13:01The devil starts messing in the middle
13:03The devil starts discouraging in the middle the devil tries to detour you in the middle
13:09But let me just pray this over you real quick and I can get back to this message
13:13I pray that this is a season where you I'm about to make up a word
13:18undistractable
13:23I'm gonna say it one more time. I'm making up a word. I pray this is a season where you have
13:31Supernatural focus where you don't even understand where your lock-in came from Lord
13:36I pray a lock-in in your people right now
13:40Somebody that receives that say I'm locked in. I don't have time for foolishness. I'm locked in. I don't have time for gossip
13:47I'm locked in. I'm not going up. I'm not going out tonight
13:50I'm going to bed because I'm waking up tomorrow morning and saying this is the day the Lord has made
13:57I
14:03I'm not acting funny. I'm locked in. I hadn't switched up on you. I'm locked in
14:08I don't think I'm better than you. I'm just trying to be a better version of me. I'm locked in
14:15I need some locked in people at every location to raise your voice and give God praise
14:26I
14:36Believe somebody just felt something shift on the inside of you. I'm a lot back in PD
14:43I was slipping but God just snatched me in them 30 seconds. I'm back now
14:57I
14:59Yeah, this is a conversation after the manifestation of a vision
15:05these two men
15:07Joshua and Caleb were born in Egypt and
15:11God sends a leader to his people that were in Egypt in that season named Moses and
15:18Moses cast a vision
15:20To them while they were in Egypt of an existence in a place called Canaan
15:26Got me so God uses Moses
15:30To talk to people in Egypt about what's possible for them
15:38Because a vision is a picture of possibility that you got to believe more than your reality
15:46Did you hear what I just said because if God doesn't send a
15:52Picture of possibility for their future then they will unconsciously settle for a pass
16:00Because everybody they knew generationally was in Egypt
16:07It's 400 years in
16:10Egypt
16:11They had normalized
16:13Egypt so God sends a man named Moses
16:17Lord, I don't have time but let me just
16:20Let me just pause right here cuz yeah, I want to say something here
16:24This is why I think it's incredibly important because I need to pause and just parenthetically insert this is pretty incredibly important to recognize
16:33the Moses
16:35That God sends to your life
16:38Come on now Moses Moses here. Who are you saying Moses can represent pastor Moses?
16:44Watch this can represent can y'all handle what I'm about to say?
16:47I said, can you handle what I'm about to say? I said, do you come here for truth or for feel-good cotton-candy?
16:53Okay. Okay. So here it is Moses represents the person that has what you need
17:00But doesn't need what you have
17:06See, okay, you see come on
17:08it represents the person that God sends that has what you need, but doesn't need what you have and
17:15That person can be trusted because now this is a person that is an asset to you that won't have to exploit you
17:25Come on here
17:27You see did Moses represents the person that was where you were
17:32But got out and now God has sent them on assignment to go back and to get other people out
17:40Come on and is that Moses his story Moses was fine. He didn't choose to go back to Egypt
17:46He's minding his own business
17:48He's shepherding sheep God starts setting bushes on fire and say take off your shoes your own holy ground
17:54God interrupted Moses his life and say now listen
17:58I'm sending you back
18:01To where you thought you would never go back to
18:03To where you thought you would never go back to
18:09This is important because if all you know is Egypt then all you know is exploitation
18:19Because in Israel is in Egypt Israel didn't get valued all they got was used
18:25They were slaves and Pharaoh didn't care about them and Pharaoh's people didn't care about them. So all they got was used
18:34and
18:35When all you've been is used
18:38That pain will create a paranoia. And so when God sends somebody that won't use you because they don't need you. Oh
18:46my gosh
18:48You can end up fighting your help
18:50You can end up resisting your help and it's like if you will stop fighting and start submitting
18:56God will get you out of your Egypt and get you into Canaan land. I
19:00I
19:02Feel I feel this for this service
19:05Let me just let's go to the other side for this service because sometimes we're Israel and we got trouble
19:12Accepting that Moses got pure motives. Then sometimes you got sometimes you Moses
19:19And you resistant to helping people, you know, probably are not going to accept your help
19:28Okay, where's my hood on it, what's that is it global who don't need to breathe right so Moses here has to agree
19:37With what he doesn't agree with I
19:40Gotta go. Yeah. Did you hear what I just said? I I said I said
19:46Moses was living his life
19:47He was fine and God's assignment for his life required him to undertake an inconvenience
19:53Undertaken inconvenience that is really in his eyes
19:57Unnecessary. He's like I don't need this in my in this I don't need this in this season of my life
20:05But he is willing to obey God's instruction because of submission to divine authority and not personal understanding or agreement
20:15Submission to God means we don't agree. I
20:19Got to go is this too much
20:22It means God's like I know you don't agree, but I need you to trust and I know you don't agree
20:27I need you to submit
20:28I know you don't agree
20:30But I need you to put your will under my will because if obeying me puts you in a grave
20:35You need to know early Sunday morning. I'm gonna get you out of there submit
20:41So God so Moses, let's go Moses cast a vision that all of Israel will make an exodus out of Egypt
20:50into a place
20:52called Canaan
20:54Everybody say Canaan
20:56Okay, it was called Canaan because it was occupied by a group of idolatrous violent and exploitive people called Canaanites
21:04Here's the principle the manifestation of a god is a manifestation of a god
21:09The manifestation of a vision will require the management of enemies
21:19Did you hear what I just said and sometimes enemies are individuals sometimes enemies are issues
21:25But it's an enemy if it's a person it's an enemy or it's a problem. It can be an enemy
21:32But the promises of God vision are always occupied with opposition and your willingness to overthrow the opposition
21:40Determines whether or not you possess the promise
21:42You don't get what he promised without overthrowing the enemy that's occupying your promise
21:47So he promised peace that passes all understanding. You don't get that without a fight
21:52He promised joy unspeakable full of glory. You don't get that without a fight
21:56You got a fight to get it and then once you get it, come on here you got a fight to keep it
22:02Is there anybody?
22:04Honest enough to admit
22:07Now here it is this isn't this isn't earning I'm not I'm not delegitimizing grace this isn't earning
22:13I'm this is by faith without works is dead faith shows up in your willingness to fight
22:20Because you do not fight for what you don't believe is yours
22:23Y'all missed it
22:24You missed it. If you go home after church today and somebody is pulling your stuff out of your house
22:31There's a way you respond because you believe that's mine. And if you really believed
22:40That peace that passes all understanding is yours
22:43You will wrestle for it
22:45If you really believe that joy unspeakable is in full of glory is yours
22:49You'll wrestle for it and if you really believe the vision you have comes from God I
22:57Will not let you go
23:00Until you bless me
23:02Somebody say fight
23:04Fight with tears in your eyes fight to the vision come to pass fight until no weapon formed against you shall prosper
23:11They tired let's go
23:20So Moses leads them out of Egypt, but when he leads them out they don't
23:24He doesn't take them right to Canaan. God leads them through a place called. It's a desert, but they call it the wilderness
23:31Got me
23:32Okay, so leads them through a desert called the wilderness
23:36Okay. Now this was supposed to be
23:39Temporary it was supposed to be a stage
23:42But they made it a state
23:45Got
23:49Me it could have been 11 days. They made it 40 years
23:55And here's why they had an opportunity to actually go into Canaan
24:00So Moses who's the leader since 12 leaders over to spy out the land? Let's see what we are facing
24:07And so among those 12 leaders is Joshua and Caleb
24:12Okay, so they go and they spot the land they come back to Moses they say Moses everything you said about the land is true
24:20Got me say everything you said is true
24:22They say okay cool. He says the land flowing milk and honey
24:26Here the grapes is evidence. Everything you said about the land is true
24:31But there are giants in that land. We knew it's gonna be people there. We just didn't know they were gonna be that big
24:37God ain't tell you that part profit
24:42And so the problem wasn't what they said about the Giants the problem is what they said about themselves
24:47Well, they said about themselves was an indication. They were probably suffering from post-traumatic slave syndrome
24:52Because they said we are grasshoppers in our own eyes and in their eyes
24:58Also, how do you know what they think about you unless you ask?
25:02So they were projecting their small
25:05So they were projecting their small view of themselves or others
25:11So here's what Moses did. He made a terrible leadership mistake. He didn't understand situational leadership
25:16So in a time so which means depending on the situation that determines what leadership approach you should take
25:22Sometimes you consult sometimes you get consensus. Sometimes you sell it then other times you tell I'm not selling now
25:29I'm telling come on parents. Sometimes like yo, I tried to sell I tried to get you to see why
25:34You should do it. But since you won't listen now, you gotta do it cuz I said so
25:38Now I'm telling y'all miss it. We were having a discussion the discussions over now now
25:43I see this situation calls for telling because you've demonstrated you don't want to understand
25:52So I have to protect you from your own choice I
25:57Got to tell I got to protect you even if that means you misinterpret my motives
26:04You want to control my life? My life is busy enough. I don't have to control your life
26:11I'm not trying to control the come on parents
26:16So so he leads by consensus when he should have led by conviction
26:22Because now he's delegating to committee something God told him in private
26:26God say the land yours
26:28The fight is fixed. I'm done tario the land yours the fight is fixed
26:34But they don't even fight a fight
26:36That's fixed
26:38So they end up staying in the wilderness 40 years, but God's faithful
26:43Because what happened was when the twelve spies came back
26:46Ten of them were like we can't do it
26:49Joshua and Caleb was like we will label
26:54But Moses ignored them and with the majority
26:57So what happened the rest of that generation died in the wilderness? Don't you shout on this?
27:03I said, don't you shout?
27:05Don't you shout Gwinnett? Don't you sound don't you shout global and don't you shout, New Jersey?
27:11Everybody died
27:12except Joshua and Caleb
27:14He kept them alive to see the promise
27:18I
27:20said he kept them alive and
27:23so Joshua becomes the leader and
27:27Leads Israel into the promised land
27:30Jericho being the first city and here's what Moses had promised him
27:35He said hey when when Israel goes into the promised land as a whole when my people go in as a whole
27:43The land will be divided
27:45Among the tribes every tribe except for the Levites because I will be their portion
27:54So when Caleb is going to Joshua he's saying now listen
28:00Moses said
28:02Once we got in here
28:04All our families will get a piece of this land. We have an inheritance in this vision
28:13So he said give me this mountain
28:18Y'all missed it he said no, no, no Moses said that if
28:23If we all got in here
28:26The land would be distributed
28:28To our families and our tribes. I got an inheritance in this vision
28:39So he says God has kept me alive
28:42So give me this mountain
28:46Here's the problem with some people's vision can I go kingdom on you now, it's not church
28:50There's not culture this kingdom. The problem with some people's vision is not that they got a wrong vision. You got it in the wrong place
28:59Because yours is the only one you care about
29:03So you don't care about what God cares about but you expect God to be consumed with what you care about
29:12Caleb said I helped your people
29:17Accomplish the vision you had for the week and because I helped with the week. I know I've got something
29:24Coming to me. I have an inheritance in
29:28The vision I
29:30helped bring the past and
29:33That was not just a case for believers in the Old Testament. Literally. It's the case for believers in the New Testament
29:39spiritually
29:41That this house has a vision to help as many people as possible live love and lead like Jesus and when I and when you
29:51Do our part to help that come to pass we have an inheritance in that vision if I'm willing to help somebody that is not
29:57That does not have my last name get to know Jesus
30:04Then I'm going to God in fervent prayer saying Lord I help
30:09People that don't have my last name get to know Jesus now
30:13I'm praying and I'm asking that people who do have my last name without their need to you
30:19So would you influence them? Would you go after them the way you went after Jonah? I got an inheritance in this vision
30:28He does not exist for us
30:33We exist for him and he says if you're willing to lose your life you'll save it
30:44Says the stuff you want you can't work for but I can give it to you
30:50But I need you to care about what I care about
30:53The loss of being saved the save being discipled the bound being free
31:06Pastor what are you teaching? I'm teaching Matthew 633
31:12But seek first the kingdom and his righteousness and all these things
31:18And all these things
31:23Will be given to you
31:25Pastor how do I do that practically three things? I
31:31Spread the word I
31:33Do what the woman did in John 4?
31:35Some of you you're not the place where you could you you're not the place where you can even you don't
31:38You don't have a place. You don't understand apologetics
31:41You can't you might you can't win arguments
31:43Don't try to argue with people but some of you at the place like with some people you can't even explain it
31:47You just got an invite. You just like hey, just come see
31:49I'm not saying come join because it might not be for you
31:53I'm just saying come see my job to get you in the building and then the rest is between you and God. I
32:01Know the park is crazy, but come see because it's crazy for a reason come see
32:08Come see why people sit through all of this come see I spread the word
32:14To I served I served the vision
32:18That doesn't mean everybody's a usher greeter
32:20You know some of you some of you not in a season of life
32:22You can't commit like that. The Bible even says you should make a calculated commitment. Don't build a tower without counting the cost
32:27Don't commit time. You don't have God understands that but in some way
32:31Everybody should be contributing to what God is doing past. I can't do every Sunday. I might not can't even do one Sunday
32:37Hey, but when y'all do change mark
32:39Which is once a year
32:41I'm gonna help distribute clothes and shoes
32:45Passive when y'all get this 18 wheeler that y'all about to get
32:49That y'all about to use as hope on wheels and fill it with food and go into communities. Oh
32:57Yeah, we get ready to do that. We gotta go we get ready to do that. I
33:03Can help stock it I can help unload it
33:06When you do change our us and you turn your auditoriums in the toy stores, I
33:13Can help escort people pass on bilingual
33:15So when people speak languages that we can't speak I can interpret so that people can get I might not can do everything
33:23every Sunday
33:27But I can do something
33:30I can do something
33:33Because I want to care about what you care about God and you care about my vision, but you care about more than that
33:40And I want to sell I want to spread the word I want to serve and I want to sell
33:46That as I am prospered you give of course
33:48there's the principle given with the time but other than that the Bible says you give as you prosper sometimes you can do more and
33:54Sometimes you can't but you do what you can until you can do what you want
34:00You
34:04Father I thank you for this vision and I thank you for the inheritance. We have in it. I pray blessing on your people in Jesus name
34:13Amen
