00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World, my name's Theo Kusinbets and today we're
00:04going to be looking at some of Manchester's best burgers and that's
00:07because Thursday the 22nd is Burger Day so we thought that it was important for
00:11us to take you around a couple of Manchester staples and maybe we'll try
00:14one of them at the end as well. Now to start off with we're out front of our
00:18most famous, now this is the Great Northern version, it is a massive
00:22Manchester staple. It's only about a 10 minute walk here from the Piccadilly
00:25Gardens, it's only just off St. Peter's Square really, I mean we're talking
00:28burgers that are loaded with stuff like gravy, massive amounts of bacon, you've
00:32got crispy waffle fries, absolutely everything that a person could want so
00:36be sure to give it a go. Now if almost famous doesn't really seem like your bag
00:39maybe it's a little bit too trendy for you then Hawksmore might be the best
00:42option. It's a little bit more sort of upper-class, a little bit more fancy but
00:46one thing that you absolutely do get is top top quality meat. The burger here is
00:50slightly more expensive, it's £16, however it's maybe not that bad of a
00:54price if you're looking to treat yourself. It's been operating here on
00:56Deansgate since about 2015 so it really is a mainstay, it's part of Manchester's
01:00culture now and it really is one of the best burgers in the city. Last stop on
01:04our little walking tour is Honest Burgers behind me, we will have one more
01:07place to show you but for now let's talk about Honest. What they really
01:10emphasise here is sustainable farming practices and what that means is that
01:13they pay premium here to specific farmers who operate at 50% lower CO2
01:17emissions for their beef. So again you're buying into the name, you're buying into
01:21the brand. What it means is that there's no real reason to feel guilty about
01:24having a burger here unless you've just cheated on your diet. So the final thing
01:28that we're going to look at today is Burgerism. Now they're an award-winning
01:31brand that were recently voted as one of the Times top 10 burgers in England. So
01:35I've ordered one here, I'll give it a try. It was only £10 for this, it's a lunch
01:38deal so you just get burger and fries and I'll let you know how it is. You even get a
01:41little sweet with it. So the chips were perfectly seasoned and still crispy
01:46despite the fact that they were delivered. The burger was great, it had
01:48bacon, tomato, pickles, onions, all that lovely stuff on and I really can't
01:52recommend Burgerism enough but all of these places are great. Give any of
01:56them a try and you won't be disappointed. I'm Theo with Manchester World, see you
01:59again soon.
