00:15Armed officers were deployed to the scene and found the man further up Stainbeck Road
00:19with a gunshot wound.
00:21The victim was a 27-year-old local man who was taken to hospital for emergency treatment.
00:26He is thought to be in a stable condition and his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
00:31Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Lee Townley said the police are
00:36carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident,
00:41adding that the criminal use of firearms on our street is always something which is
00:45treated extremely seriously.
00:48The police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any part of the incident or
00:52who has any information, CCTV or dashcam footage that could assist with the investigation.
