00:00Here I am, pitch side at the Japan National Stadium, where Newcastle United have ended
00:07their tour of Tokyo with a 2-0 defeat against Yokohama F minus.
00:13Yeah, it was a hot, hot evening as expected here in Tokyo.
00:22Great setting, good attendance actually tonight as well, after the sort of, I think it was
00:27a fifth full at the Saitama Stadium the other night for the 4-1 win.
00:31But yeah, all in all, a successful trip for Newcastle United, although on the pitch tonight
00:36there was a lot to be desired.
00:39I think Newcastle players still getting rid of that pre-season sharpness, and I'll be
00:44honest, I'm leaving this stadium again not really knowing where I'm going, so bear with
00:48me.
00:49But yeah, I think Newcastle huffed and puffed.
00:53I thought Bruno, captain tonight, he was great, really pulled the strings, ran the
00:59show for the most part, played two great balls through to Harvey Barnes, who squandered both
01:04chances.
01:05Alexander Isak took a knock to his shoulder, was withdrawn at half-time, but spoke to Eddie
01:09Howe afterwards, said it was a planned substitution, so good, because he's Newcastle's only fifth
01:16striker at the moment, so yeah.
01:20In terms of transfer update for Eddie Howe, he was asked about Willa Sula and Mark Gaye,
01:27but obviously didn't comment on those specific players, but said he's hopeful of bringing
01:35a transfer update in the coming days, so we're waiting to see on that.
01:39Obviously really important Newcastle springing into action ahead of the new season, two weeks
01:44to go before that opening day against Southampton in the Premier League at St James' Park.
01:50This trip to Tokyo has been overall a success, we spoke with the likes of Darren Eales,
01:58Peter Silverstone today at the fan event, and both of them really had positive things
02:06to say about the trip, and to speak to the fans as well, who are obviously having a great
02:10time, so may not have been pretty on the pitch tonight, but overall a really successful trip
02:15for Newcastle United on the commercial front.
