00:00Today, during National Missing Persons Week, we're announcing the establishment of Strike
00:13Force Biking, a joint investigation between ACT Policing and the New South Wales Police
00:18Force to investigate the disappearance of Laura Ayworth.
00:23Laura was last seen on Collett Street, Queenby, New South Wales in January 2008.
00:27Her car, a red Mazda 121, was later found at Reid, ACT.
00:34Police have received information to lead us to suspect she met with foul play on or about
00:39that time.
00:40Despite extensive investigations at the time and over the years, Laura has never been located.
00:47We believe there are people in the community that have information about Laura's disappearance.
00:53We are urging those people to come forward.
00:56It's been 16 years since Laura went missing, and that 16 years her family has not had Laura
01:02or had any answers.
01:05I implore anyone with information, no matter how big or small, to contact Crimestoppers
01:09on 1800 333 000.
01:13The information you provide could be the key to giving Laura's family some much-needed
01:16answers.
01:18Information can be provided anonymously, and each lead should be thoroughly investigated.
01:26Thank you.
01:27Good morning, everyone.
01:28Neil Grace, my name.
01:29Detective Chief Inspector of Police from New South Wales Police, Monaro.
01:32It gives me great pleasure to announce today that we're joining forces with the ACT Police
01:37in investigating Laura's disappearance.
01:40Sixteen years is a long time for a family to wait for someone to come home.
01:45The ACT have done a tremendous job in investigating thus far and have established lines of inquiry
01:50that go into New South Wales, and it's for that reason that we're commencing this
01:54strike force today.
01:56We're hoping that there's someone out there with some information, no matter how small,
02:00that will ring up the Crimestoppers number and provide that little piece of the puzzle
02:04that we need so we can go forward and give Laura's family some answers.
