00:43:33the Broncos.

00:43:37And again I'm saying that Tom

00:43:39Smith was surely holding his

00:43:40breath.

00:43:41But Bryson Manor got to him

00:43:42number 66.

00:43:44He had plenty of time to throw.

00:43:45It must have been very good

00:43:46coverage by the Denver Broncos

00:43:47in the secondary but Roger

00:43:49dropping back and he's getting

00:43:50pressure.

00:43:52He has a way to go but Roger

00:43:53knows how quickly the Denver

00:43:55Broncos can regroup and he also

00:43:57knows how hard they hit.

00:43:58So he wisely goes down.

00:43:59Paul Smith really protected him

00:44:00from the outside.

00:44:01I remember guys who played for

00:44:02Denver like Gene Mingo and Gene

00:44:04Mingo who's gone to him and

00:44:05Frank.

00:44:07That's right.

00:46:46one yard line as you could tell

00:46:48he did not like just getting

00:46:49that close and no farther from

00:46:51there.

00:46:52Ronnie Coleman did his best

00:46:53got the Oilers a touchdown.

00:46:55Houston goes on top seven six

00:46:57in the ballgame.

00:46:58Pat McAnally right here gets a

00:47:00low snap from center runs a

00:47:05sets Houston up again with a

00:47:07scoring opportunity in the

00:47:11found Billy Johnson this time

00:47:16Houston led by the score of 13

00:47:40The Chicago Bears came into

00:47:41today's ballgame with the Giants

00:47:42in much the same situation.

00:47:44They needed a victory in order

00:47:45to make the playoffs.

00:47:46They got it in overtime 12 to 9

00:47:48on the strength of the last

00:47:49second field goal by Bob Thomas.

00:47:51You talk about bad conditions

00:47:52look at that right there.

00:47:54Parsons early on get the putt

00:47:55away.

00:47:56And you know what happens to the

00:47:57football in games like this

00:47:58when the weather like this one

00:47:59becomes tough to hang on to.

00:50:54nothing.

00:50:55The Jets finish at three eleven

00:50:56Larry couple of small games in

00:50:59the NFC finals Atlanta beat New

00:51:01Orleans thirty five to seven

00:51:03gave them a seven and seven

00:51:04season but more important it

00:51:06enabled the Falcons to

00:51:07establish a new NFL defensive

00:51:09record.

00:51:10They allowed one hundred and

00:51:11twenty nine points on the

00:51:12season.

00:51:13That's an average of nine per

00:51:14game.

00:51:15It breaks the record set by the

00:51:16Minnesota Vikings of one hundred

00:51:17and thirty three points.

00:51:18They set that eight years ago

00:51:20another game with a nice result

00:51:22for Tampa Bay.

00:51:23They won their second game in a

00:51:24row defeated St.

00:51:25Louis 17 to seven can go home

00:51:27using about next season for St.

00:51:30Louis who won six in a row this

00:51:32season including games over at

00:51:34the Dallas Cowboys and

00:51:35Minnesota.

00:51:36They wind up with a

00:51:37disappointing seven and seven.

00:52:03that they're going to the

00:52:04playoffs and a lot of times

00:52:06you've been in a contest like

00:52:07this.

00:52:08You don't want to take any any

00:52:09chance because you know that

00:52:10it's important that you show up

00:52:11next week and in the case of the

00:52:13Denver Broncos it's going to be

00:52:14next Saturday they're going to

00:52:15have to go against the

00:52:16Pittsburgh Steelers.

00:52:17It's going to be a little

00:52:18conservative in the first half

00:52:19which is not to say that

00:52:20there's not a lot of hard

00:52:21hitting out there there really

00:52:22is particularly on the part of

00:52:24the two defenses but the

00:52:25offenses are laying a little

00:52:27low.

00:52:28I guarantee you if these two

00:52:29teams end up in the Super Bowl

00:52:30a lot of people think that they

00:52:31will see a little more action

00:52:33than we've seen thus far.

00:52:34Well I think one thing too you

00:52:35must consider the field

00:52:36position for the Denver Broncos

00:52:37has not been very good in the

00:52:38first half.

00:52:39They're the type of team that

00:52:41they needed.

00:52:42At least we're learning how to

00:52:43pump.

00:52:44Yeah.

00:53:27are a forward looking football

00:53:29team and they're bound to be in

00:53:31contention again next year they

00:53:32draft very very well and there's

00:53:34Red Phillips that has done such

00:53:36a red Miller Phillips Miller

00:53:38that has done such a tremendous

00:53:40job for the Denver Broncos this

00:53:42year he had you know he's got

00:53:43him fired up the attitude of

00:53:44the football club is really

00:53:45great and that's very so very

00:53:46very important you know what he

00:53:48told us talking to before the

00:53:49game he said emotion and pro

00:53:50football is a fleeting thing he

00:53:53recognizes that fact is that

00:53:54when you get it you better hang

00:53:55on to it and cash in on it and

00:53:57so he's trying to get him fired

00:53:58up for the second half they've

00:53:59lost only one game they split

00:54:01with Oakland and that was the

00:54:03only game that they lost and

00:54:06Miller in his first year to be

00:54:08sure inherited a good football

00:54:09team but did a good job they

00:54:11have a lot of talent on that

00:54:13football team defensively in

00:54:14particular and the defense has

00:54:16always been good for the last

00:54:17few years the problem has been

00:54:18the offense they've been very

00:54:19inconsistent with Morton coming

00:54:21in this year they've they've

00:54:22got that consistency at least

00:54:24they have when they've been in

00:54:25scoring situations they've

00:54:27gotten some points ever and

00:54:28Herrera will kick it away and

00:54:31there's Lonnie Perrin number 35

00:54:32going back with Rick up church

00:54:34up church hasn't been able to

00:54:36excite as much this afternoon

00:54:38first both of these teams have

00:54:39outstanding specialty teams and

00:54:41it's tough to break a run
