00:00The technological and industrial leadership of Italy and the importance of GPL and GNL
00:13in the ecological transition. These themes at the center of the FederChemical gas-liquid
00:18assembly, entitled Sustainability of liquefied gases in new European horizons, a moment of
00:24comparison that has been held at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy. In the light
00:28of the renewal of European institutions, which will soon have to face important issues
00:32in terms of energy, environment and industry, with the aim of increasing the importance
00:37of the use of alternative fuels, increasingly of bio and renewable origin, the Italian companies
00:42of GPL and GNL are ready for the challenge.
00:45The questions are various. The first, the simplest, is that of the conferment for 2025 and the
00:51following years of the measurement on the return of GPL vehicles, because it is a measurement
00:55that has started three weeks ago and is giving excellent results and a great interest
00:59from consumers. Then there is, instead, in a larger dimension, there is a need from
01:06the Italian policy to represent the energy need of our consumers and our small
01:13companies. The need, that is, to come to confirm, as an approach for the future, the
01:19approach of technological neutrality, according to which, therefore, users can choose from
01:25different forms of energy, the most useful and appropriate, and therefore be able to choose
01:30between our products, GPL and GNL, electricity or a series of other vectors, according to
01:38those that are the specific needs and uses of the consumer. However, we do not want to
01:44remain on the market as we are today, but we want to participate in a process of decarbonization
01:50and therefore have available GPL and GNL molecules, gradually, over time, more and more of a
01:57renewable origin. To do this, however, our companies are investing in research and development,
02:02they are spending money and we need this activity to be tutored by Italian policy and,
02:08above all, by the community, both from a regulatory point of view, therefore giving an
02:13enabling perspective, and from an economic point of view, because this research will become
02:18more and more expensive, the implementation of the first systems will be very expensive,
02:23so we will need to be accompanied not only from a political and regulatory point of view,
02:28but also from a financial point of view.
02:31The Assembly has also been an opportunity to dialogue with the institutions, in particular
02:35with the Ministry of Enterprise of Made in Italy, in order to reiterate the importance of some
02:39measures put in place, such as the bonus decree and the need to review the EU policies
02:44that provide for the banning of new endothermic cars in 2035 and new gas boilers in 2040.
02:51We are absolutely convinced, as are our companies and also our citizens, of the need for Europe
03:00to review the times and the ways for the ecological transition in order to combine the environmental
03:07sustainability that we all believe in with the economic, productive and social sustainability
03:15of the European system.
03:18Also in the car incentive plan, which is in force, we have decided to allocate resources
03:25to liquid gas, which is certainly an important and significant road on which we must direct
03:32our Europe.
