00:59Results also reveal President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. continues to enjoy the approval of majority
01:04of Filipinos as he marks his second year in office.
01:07Duterte's national approval rating in June is at 69 percent, up from 67 percent in March.
01:14Marcos sustains majority public trust in June at 52 percent, a five percentage point decrease
01:19from his 57 percent in March.
01:22Meantime, distrust in Marcos jumps to 21 percent in June, from 15 percent in March, a six percentage
01:28point difference.
01:29Though the least trusted among top government officials, House Speaker Martin Romualdez's
01:34trust rating improved in June to 35 percent, from 31 percent in March.
01:39His distrust score is statistically unchanged at 23 percent from 24 percent.
01:47The National Bureau of Investigation says a syndicate must be behind the issuance of
01:50fake birth certificates in Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur.
01:54NBI Davao Region Director Archie Albao tells Newsline Philippines the number of falsified
01:59documents, around 1,200, indicates a syndicate in substantial financial transactions.
02:05Before this, the NBI also discovered around 200 fake birth certificates issued mostly
02:10to Chinese nationals by the Davao del Sur Civil Registry.
02:14Newsline says fake birth certificates in Davao came to light due to an incident involving
02:19a Chinese who applied for a passport in Davao but could speak neither Bisaya nor Tagalog.
02:24The Chinese assumed a Filipino name and claimed birth information that did not match his other
02:29documents.
02:33Commission on Elections Chairman George Garcia plans to file a case against detractors alleging
02:38a Comlec official accepted a bribe to favor a poll tech provider.
02:42On Wednesday, July 17, Garcia says they are compiling all statements related to a, quote,
02:48and are waiting for the National Bureau of Investigation's results, which is looking
02:52into the falsified documents.
02:54On Tuesday, July 9, SAGIP Representative Rodante Marcoleta insinuated that a Comlec official
03:00received bribe money to favor Miru in the bidding for Comlec's procurement of new election
03:05machines.
03:06While Marcoleta did not name anyone, Garcia says, quote,
03:09they really didn't name anyone because they were going after the whole institution.
03:14Last week, Marcoleta claimed 49 offshore bank accounts worth $15.2 million can be linked
03:19back to the unnamed Comlec official, but he also admits the claims have yet to be verified.
03:27Liza Araneta Marcos, lawyer and wife to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., gets a new title, Vice
03:33Admiral of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary, or PCGA, or the Philippine Coast Guard's Volunteer
03:39Force.
03:40The First Lady officially joins the PCGA's executive squadron in a ceremony aboard the
03:45BRP Gabriela Silang Tuesday, July 16.
03:49The Honorary Rank of Auxiliary Vice Admiral is a three-star officer of the Volunteer Force.
03:54PCG's spokesperson Rear Admiral Arman Balilo says Araneta Marcos is the first First Lady
04:00to join the PCGA's ranks.
04:03The PCGA is a volunteer non-government organization that follows a military structure as it is
04:09attached to the PCG.
04:11One's role as a PCGA member is rather vague and will ultimately be up to an individual.
04:16When asked if the First Lady will join PCG voyages to the West Philippine Sea, he says
04:21she didn't say anything about it.
