00:06President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s performance and trust ratings drop in a recent PulseAsia survey.
00:18A Comelec task force files a petition to disqualify PASIG candidate Ian Sia over remarks on single mothers.
00:24Criminal complaints are filed against Ronald Cardema and Raul Lambino for disinformation on a non-existent Rodrigo Duterte TRO.
00:33And the Philippine Reclamation Authority is under fire for saying mangroves can be relocated to make way for reclamation projects.
00:42President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s performance and trust ratings drop sharply in March.
00:47According to a PulseAsia survey held from March 23 to 29, only 25% of Filipinos approved of his performance while 53% disapproved and 22% were undecided.
00:59This is a 17 percentage point drop from his 42% approval rating in the February PulseAsia survey.
01:05His trust ratings are also low with 54% of Filipinos saying they had little or no trust in Marcos and only 25% saying they trusted him.
01:14This is also a 17 percentage point drop from his 42% trust rating in February.
01:20The same survey shows most Filipinos disapproved of how Marcos' administration handled key national issues, especially controlling inflation.
01:28Meantime, the administration gains majority approval on only two issues.
01:32Protecting the welfare of overseas Filipino workers and responding to the needs of areas affected by calamities, both with 51%.
01:38A unit of the Commission on Elections, or COMELEC, files a petition to disqualify Pasig Lone District Candidate Christian Ian Sia over a controversial remark about single mothers.
01:51In a campaign sortie in Barangay Pinagbuhatan on April 2, Sia told residents his contribution to lonely solo parents is to sleep with them once a year, provided they are still menstruating.
02:00He then said he was joking.
02:02COMELEC Task Force Safe Director Sonia Bea Wilozada says the unit wanted to emphasize the importance of safe spaces.
02:08This is the first time the COMELEC filed a motu proprio complaint involving an incident of discriminatory remarks.
02:14Motu proprio means by its own accord.
02:17It is based on the COMELEC's appreciation of the incident and without a third-party complainant.
02:22In his response to the first show cause order issued by COMELEC, Sia argued that his remarks on single mothers fell within his freedom of speech.
02:29Sia is running under the slate of businesswoman Sara Diskaya, who is opposing incumbent Mayor Vico Soto.
02:34He's up against Pasig's incumbent Congressman Roman Romulo, who, like Soto, is running for a third and final term.

02:59The National Bureau of Investigation files two separate criminal complaints
03:07against former National Youth Commission Chairperson Ronald Gardema and lawyer Raul Lambino
03:12for disinformation over a temporary restraining order petition filed with the Supreme Court against the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
03:19The NBI files the complaint against the allies of Duterte for alleged violation of Article 154 of the revised penal code
03:26or unlawful use of means of publication and unlawful utterances.
03:31Duterte was arrested by the ICC on March 11, and on the same day,
03:34Senator Bato de la Rosa filed a petition with the Supreme Court seeking a TRO against the arrest.
03:40The disinformation started on the night of March 11, when Duterte supporters claimed that a TRO had been issued.
03:46On March 12, the Supreme Court announced that it had actually denied the TRO petition.
03:52Recently, the court also ordered Lambino to explain the disinformation on Duterte's supposed TRO.
03:59The Philippine Reclamation Authority faces criticism from environmentalists for saying in a video
04:05that mangroves can be relocated if they block a reclamation project.
04:08The video is part of the PRA's response to backlash after it posted, then deleted,
04:31a call for lease or joint venture proposals in the Las Piñas Paranaque Wetland Park.
04:35The park is a protected area and Ramsar site.
04:39Youth environmental organizations warn that removing mature mangroves could harm the ecosystem even more.
04:44They add, planting activities do not guarantee mangrove seedlings will survive.
04:49Before the video, the PRA released a statement saying regulated development is allowed in protected areas.
04:55The Global Mangrove Alliance in the Philippines calls on the Department of Environment and Natural Resources
04:59to clarify that the Las Piñas Paranaque Wetland Park is not open for development.
