00:0087% of working Filipinos are experiencing a mental health issue due to work-related stress according to a study.
00:09Here are some ways to fight work-related stress according to the report of Vaughn Aquino.
00:18Kenneth Nicolas is 8 years old in the BPO industry.
00:21He is experiencing stress due to worrying about his performance.
00:26He is having a hard time sleeping and gaining weight due to stress eating.
00:30When you're stressed, you need to release the stress.
00:33So basically, I do eat a lot.
00:35That's why our battery is a bit low.
00:39Stress eating is also the coping mechanism of Daniella Roque.
00:43It's also a pressure in work because we have a lot of work.
00:48When we wake up in the morning, it's really a chocolate bar.
00:51Every time we have lunch, I eat a lot.
00:55It's like I'm on a buffet.
00:56According to a study by an insurance provider,
00:5987% of Filipinos are experiencing at least one mental health issue due to the work environment.
01:07This is higher than the global average of 76%.
01:12This includes having a hard time sleeping,
01:15stress and anxiety,
01:16having a hard time concentrating,
01:18losing self-confidence,
01:20feelings of worthlessness and eating disorders.
01:23According to the study,
01:25due to poor mental health,
01:2768% of Filipino workers are thinking of resigning or changing jobs.
01:3257% are taking training courses to change jobs.
01:3654% are doing remote work so they don't have to go to the office.
01:40And 50% are seeking leave.
01:43According to a psychologist,
01:44when stress is caused by work-related issues,
01:47you should look for a meaningful reason for your work.
01:52So either this is a stepping stone for the career we want.
01:57If this job is a job because you want to earn money for your family,
02:04to provide for your family,
02:06that's the meaning of work.
02:07After work, let your mind rest on your work.
02:11Use your vacation leave to reflect and relax.
02:15Find a way to shut off the work brain when you're out of work.
02:22Because sometimes we're still thinking about our jobs.
02:25So either do something completely different.
02:28If stress is caused by work,
02:31it's better to control yourself and be professional.
02:34Companies should also support
02:37employees' mental health and stress management.
02:40Allowing workers with realistic timeframes and realistic workloads.
02:47And allowing non-work hours.
02:50Really non-work.
02:52Now, unless your job is an emergency,
02:55you're an emergency worker,
02:57I hope you have a sacred time off
03:00so that their workers can attend to their family.
