The Blackburne Arms just opened on Allerton Road, serving cask ales and of course, their iconic Sunday roast.
Their original site located on Catharine Street is popular with foodies, becoming widely regarded as the proud server of Liverpool’s ‘best roast’. We went to the new venue to see if it's worth the hype.

00:00The Blackburn Arms recently opened on Allerton Road, bringing one of the
00:04Georgian Quarter's most loved pubs to South Liverpool. With many locals claiming
00:09they serve the best Sunday roast in the city, we headed to the new pub to see if
00:12it's worth the hype. We had a fruity cider and a beer for our drinks and
00:16despite saying in advance that we weren't going to order a starter, we
00:20obviously couldn't resist the focaccia which was unreal. The main star of course
00:25was the roasts and there were two veggie and vegan options, lamb, beef or
00:29chicken. We got the beef and the sweet potato and chickpea loaf and oh my god
00:34were they good. We added stuffing balls too which I forgot to film but they were
00:38up there with the best I've ever had. The gravy was thick, the roasties were
00:42perfect and neither of us could fault the meal at all. For afters we got the
00:46honeycomb affogato and the sticky toffee pudding because is it even a Sunday if
00:50you don't eat way too much. I think we might have found our new favourite place
00:54for a roast.
