00:00Obvious tools, a strummer, a mower to do that kind of thing, and then for the borders, gardening

00:09gloves, forks, snips, edging spade maybe.

00:14And the nice thing is that if you haven't done it in a while, it's going to look so

00:17fantastic in a relatively short period of time, so nice transformation, yeah.

00:23In the summer months, my builder have also recommended to provide plenty of shade for

00:27your garden in order to give your plants relief during hot days.

00:31Shade also reportedly helps to lower water loss through evaporation, which in turn creates

00:36a cooler microclimate.

00:38Don't cut the grass too short, that's really going to affect how the sun is kind of penetrating

00:44the soil and is not good for water evaporation, stuff like that.

00:48And also, do not panic, because your garden is a pretty hardy environment and it will

00:54grow back.

00:55If it starts looking pretty horrible out there and you can't get the water on it, it

01:00will come back.

01:01So don't panic.

01:02So going to garden centers, for example, you would hopefully find a very good wealth of

01:06knowledge there.

01:07Speak with people directly there about specific plants and environments, etc.

01:11If you go online, there's the Royal Horticultural Society, very trusted, and the same with the

01:17National Trust.

01:18They have really good guides on how to look after everything to do with your garden.

01:23And also, a bit of a guilty pleasure, I personally like Garden Rescue.

01:28A little bit crazy to admit, but they have some really good ideas and they talk about

01:34plants and the different environments that they like on there.

01:36So yeah, there's so much information out there.

01:39The first thing I think is actually really simple for everyone, is just thinking about

01:43who this space is for, how you intend to use this space, and how actively do you want to

01:50maintain slash manage your garden, right?

01:53And if you come up with those three things, I then start thinking about hiring a pro.
