We paid a visit to Ann Street after readers named it the Edinburgh street they'd most like to live on.

00:00So I'm here just now on Arran Street which according to our readers is the street they
00:16would most like to live on in Edinburgh and you can see behind me that it's got some lovely
00:21Georgian architecture. The Water of Leith runs right next to the street. You've got
00:25gardens. You're quite close here to the amenities in Stockbridge and to the city centre as well
00:31even though it's quite an idyllic environment. Now I've been out speaking to some residents
00:35today and they've had some mixed reactions to the reader's verdict. Some of them are
00:40completely in agreement. They say it's a really peaceful place to live, that the neighbours are
00:43friendly and that it almost feels like taking a step back in time with all the lovely Georgian
00:49architecture. There are other people though who are a bit peeved about the parking situation
00:54as you can see the street is quite narrow and there are often quite a lot of work vans which
00:58take up quite a lot of space and people face a little bit of obstruction sometimes in their
01:03daily lives and also some people would like to see a bit more effort to preserve the old
01:09townhouses that are here. Some people think that there's too much development going on
01:15and that some of the newer buyers haven't been taking the care to preserve the character of
01:21the streets. It's really been a mixed verdict and it's also one of the most expensive
01:26streets in Edinburgh so it comes with that reputation but
01:30certainly most residents that I've spoken to today have mixed feelings.
