00:00A raging inferno last night, this morning, a toxic smouldering mess.
00:08Crews arrived at the Kingston Storage King at 10pm.
00:11Around half past four this morning, weary firefighters finally brought it under control.
00:17150 compartments were damaged.
00:19We've also saved though, due to the hard work of our firefighters on a particular firewall,
00:25we were able to save another 110 of those same compartments.
00:28But as the flames subsided, the smog cleared to reveal what residents had lost.
00:34Tammy Robinson runs a free community program which has dressed 3,000 disadvantaged teenagers
00:40for school formals.
00:41The stuff that we lost in there was thousands of dresses that people from all over Australia
00:49had sent us to help support our students.
00:52A crushing outcome, with implications for months to come.
00:56That's really devastated for all those people that sent us this stuff as well, and all the
01:01students that we won't be able to help.
01:04Leigh Jamison's mother and grandfather recently died from cancer, and the fire has come as
01:10another blow.
01:11Do you really hope that you can get through this year?
01:14Through this year without any more devastation.
01:18Several nearby residents spent the night in an evacuation centre as part of the public
01:22safety declaration.
01:24We had to activate our local disaster management group to be able to support those people.
01:28Blade Brian returned home this morning to collect her two cats.
01:31They're good now, they've seen mum, so they were a bit stressed.
01:35When they arrived, firefighters immediately shut off fuel and gas supplies at the neighbouring
01:40service station, but they say keeping the fire away from it was difficult.
01:45They also kept a close watch on another.
01:48Fire investigators will continue to search for a cause.
