00:00Mr. Speaker, I rise today during Immigrant Heritage Month in recognition of the 12th
00:11anniversary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, known as DACA.
00:17Since 2012, DACA recipients, or DREAMers, have experienced uncertainty about their status
00:24and future in this country.
00:26Yet, their impact is certain.
00:29They are our nurses, writers, lawyers, teachers, activists, and changemakers.
00:34They have grown up here, eagerly contributing to the diversity of our country.
00:40If Congress does nothing, we lose our neighbors, our family members, and friends.
00:46We lose fellow Americans.
00:48With the American Dream and Promise Act, House Democrats have a plan, with a bipartisan support,
00:54to finally create a pathway for citizenship for DREAMers.
00:59In America, we welcome those fleeing harm and danger.
01:03We welcome those who believe in the American Dream.
01:06We put people over politics.
01:10Americans support DREAMers, and DREAMers support America.
01:14I yield back.
