00:52Colleagues, after eight months of devastation
00:55and pain and trauma, what is needed now more than ever
00:58is for the fighting to end in a sustainable way.
01:03The United States and every single country in this chamber
01:07want to see an immediate ceasefire
01:10with the release of hostages.
01:13We've heard those calls time and time again
01:17since October 7th.
01:20Now the opportunity is here.
01:22We must seize it and we must speak with one voice.
01:27Israel goals have been very clear,
01:29to bring all our hostages back home
01:32and to dismantle Hamas's capabilities.
01:35Israel is committed to these goals,
01:37to free all the hostages,
01:39to destroy Hamas's military and governing capabilities,
01:43and to ensure that Gaza does not pose a threat
01:45to Israel in the future.
01:48And as we have echoed numerous times in this very chamber,
01:51once these goals are met, the war will end.
01:54We want to see the implementation of the objective
01:58of stopping the fighting completely
02:02and to have humanitarian assistance to our people
02:05to the level that they need,
02:07to stop the forced transfer,
02:10to allow our people to return to the areas
02:13where they were pushed out of
02:15in all parts of the Gaza Strip, including the north,
02:19and to see the Israeli forces outside the Gaza Strip
02:24and not a single portion of the Gaza Strip geographically
02:28to be taken or under the control
02:30of the Israeli occupying forces.
