00:02 - Okay, so now we got college football headed our way here
00:06 coming up in less than 100 days.
00:08 First games could be played, I believe, late August.
00:11 And it looks like there's a chance one,
00:14 if not more, the conferences, Mike,
00:15 are gonna be giving out more detailed injury reports.
00:18 I know that this helps understanding who's gonna play
00:21 and not also helps sports bettors
00:23 as to whether or not to make the proper decision there.
00:26 What do you think is behind all of this?
00:29 - Yeah, Craig, I think what Kirby Smart said recently
00:33 to reporters, the Georgia coach,
00:34 was that they don't want players having to tell,
00:38 you know, potentially getting asked about this stuff,
00:40 you know, from their friends, family,
00:43 you know, classmates at school,
00:45 because it's so insulated, obviously,
00:46 as you know, on a college campus,
00:48 who's in, who's out every day.
00:49 So this really could help that, right?
00:51 We've talked about, you know,
00:53 the NCAA wanting to come down on player prop bets
00:56 because they don't want athletes to be harassed.
00:58 This is another chance to stop some harassment,
01:00 at least on another front,
01:01 of trying to obtain insider information.
01:03 So we'll see where this goes.
01:04 I don't know if it's gonna be a daily thing.
01:06 I think the Big Ten does it two hours before kickoff
01:09 where they give availability injury reports.
01:11 Certainly you'd love it to be like the NFL, I think,
01:13 depending on how many times colleges practice
01:15 football, basketball, that you'd have a report all the time
01:19 as the days progress of questionable, doubtful,
01:22 those kind of designations.
01:23 We'll see if that's the case here,
01:25 or eventually it evolves there.
01:26 And you hope that it's uniform.
01:28 It's not just the SEC Big Ten.
01:30 Any sort of, you know, football or basketball
01:33 major conference should have this.
01:35 Hopefully on a daily basis, if not before games,
01:37 a couple hours to, you know,
01:39 to get off of those athletes who are susceptible,
01:42 or trainers, whoever it is,
01:44 and these staffs that are susceptible
01:46 to giving out this inside information
01:48 and getting somebody in trouble.
