01:19 With the standby water,

02:23 This is a clarification about this problem.
02:28 And actually, they're aware.
02:31 [Filipino language]
03:00 Entrance of the mall?
03:02 No, no.
03:03 Entrance employees.

03:09 Yes.
03:10 [Filipino language]
03:19 The picture we sent you is not exactly a flood,
03:23 but it's a stagnant water that's flowing.

42:16 [Filipino language]
42:36 Anyway, so I know GCash and even Globe is really investing on cyber security. Who are your partners in these endeavors?
42:51 So we've been working very closely with the PNP, the DICC, the cybercrime unit, and then we also have our strong partnerships with the NBI. And then part of that also is us advocating for the passing of the AFASA bill, the Anti-Financial Scamming Act.
43:17 So our partnerships with the PNP, the NBI, and the DICC, CICC, these all include the workshops that, thank you for sharing the story of the workshop. We've been going around the offices, educating the employees there.
43:32 The most recent are the Senate employees on what GCash is, what GCash does, and how GCash protects its customers and how we can help each other in terms of battling cyber security.
43:47 Does your system also detect unusual peaks of amounts being deposited to an account?
43:55 Yes, that is part of the advance.
44:00 Like for example, there was a report made by the International Justice Mission wherein GCash is the additional wallet being used in paying for pornographic materials.
44:17 Not just GCash, but all the wallets.
44:18 E-wallets, but I think GCash was really named there because you know, you could say it's GCash.
44:24 Since more people are using it.
44:25 More people are using it and are familiar with GCash. So in this case, how are you collaborating? Because I think NBI had a campaign on this. So how are you working with NBI on this?
44:37 With the NBI, I think there is a good exchange of information. Not just with pornography, with child pornography, but with a lot of scams and cyber attacks that we're trying to crack down on.
44:54 The relationship with the NBI is very strong and the sharing of resources and information is there so that we can be able to have those arrests.
45:06 So talking about arrests, can you give us some updates? Maybe this year or you mentioned about arrests.
45:12 Yeah, there was a story shared with us that I'm not sure if that was last year or the other year. The number of crackdowns on these crimes, online crimes.
45:27 So for blocked links, blocked accounts, we have blocked over 4 million.
45:36 This is a period of?
45:38 This is from 2022.
45:41 2022 until today, 2024.
45:45 And then for the arrests, we have about over 80 arrests so far. And I can give you also the updated numbers in terms of percentage of the number of scams that went down in the past year.
46:01 Because of these measures we provided, they cannot use it anymore.
46:08 This is with, of course, Globe and with PNP.
46:12 Yes, it is really a collaborative effort with private companies and the agencies.
46:19 Industry as a whole.
46:21 Yes, definitely. Because we also have, we're very much embedded in the FinTech Alliance.
46:28 So you mentioned 4 million, this is in compact, all or not? This is industry-wide?
46:34 No, this is just Gcash.
46:36 Gcash.
46:37 Just Gcash.
46:38 So this 4 million is marami na, no?
46:40 Yeah, for Gcash.
46:41 It's easy to buy the sim and register it again to your name and everything.
46:46 So, well, this is going to be a battle of volume.
46:52 They block you, you keep on buying.
46:54 Well, they'll be richer because you keep on buying.
46:58 No, but we'll keep blocking.
46:59 You keep blocking. So, okay, just keep on buying.
47:02 They'll keep on blocking anyway.
47:04 So, again, I'm very concerned with older adults. I got it wrong. It's not senior adults, but older adults like Dodong and our very good friend, Maffei.
47:15 You have to be very careful with the SMS that you're receiving.
47:21 Never share your OTP or your MPIN and never click.
47:26 Don't click anything with links that is sent to you via SMS because Gcash, don't do that.
47:33 And be careful who you transact with when we go online shopping.
47:37 Don't be too trusting.
47:39 Keep asking.
47:40 Like if you want, I remember an older adult in the family, he said, "I got boodled."
47:48 Boodled is also getting to be a verb.
47:50 "I got boodled." Why?
47:52 She bought a carpet when she saw it on marketplace. It's very good. It really looks like the Persian carpet.
48:06 But it will not fly.
48:08 But when it arrived, what can you see on the photos? It's about this thick. But when it arrives, it was not real.
48:18 It was a different product.
48:19 It was a different product and she was really complaining and ranting everything.
48:23 So again, don't share.
48:25 That's sometimes what you get when you do this online transaction.
48:30 So very basic as Ms. Chris here said, don't share your OTP or password, everything.
48:38 Only share your love.
48:40 Oh, via Gcash.
48:43 My love is in Gcash.
48:46 My love, too.
48:47 The one where you donate for the environment. There's also one program that has that.
48:52 Frank is there.
48:53 Why are you related, Frank?
48:54 I'm related to Frank.
48:55 Anyway, I'm also interested about, I'm not sure if Gcash Jr. is still available.
49:02 Not for now.
49:04 Not for now. But savings is something that...
49:07 Yes, definitely. So we'll keep you updated once we have new updates on GsaveJr.
49:12 I'm just curious if Gcash, we can say it's also a banking, not yet.
49:18 It's a mobile wallet.
49:20 A mobile wallet.
49:21 But on Gcash, I think they have quite a number of partners where you can open savings accounts.
49:28 Yes, we have banking partners.
49:29 Under Gsave, so there's BPI, CIMB, Bonobang.
49:35 You can choose from their selection of interest rates or programs.
49:39 So you don't need to, like in the old way, during Dudong's time, it takes a lot of documents.
49:47 You open an account, you go to the nearest bank, open an account.
49:51 You have how many IDs you need, group of income, and all the proofs in life, you bring it to open an account.
49:58 But with technology, although, like in the case of Gcash, it's just on your pocket.
50:05 Just be ready to take a picture of your balance.
50:08 And Gcash, it's not only about cash.
50:11 You can also loan.
50:13 Yes, we have loans.
50:16 We have buy now, pay later programs called G-Gives.
50:21 If you want to give, you can.
50:24 Give is to make your own heart, though.
50:26 Hey, so that we can see that Joshua is a cabrera.
50:30 Okay.
50:31 Joshua, how are you?
50:33 Anyway, so Chris, any other information you want to share to our audience?
50:38 Well, thank you again for having us here and for allowing us to share what Gcash does and how Gcash prioritizes trust and security.
50:47 But really, we can't remind our users enough to protect their account.
50:55 And the first layer of protection always starts with us by not sharing our MPIN, our OTP, and by always being discerning about our transactions.
51:04 And then rest assured also that the controls and the technology that we have in place are there to protect you from all the scams and the cyber attacks.
51:15 To be safe, just share love.
51:18 There are phones that, you know, aside from instead of using your MPIN, you can use your biometrics.
51:25 Yes.
51:26 There are phones. So I think it's better to use the biometrics because your face can never be replaced.
51:32 That is one thing they can't steal.
51:34 Yeah, they can't steal. Your fingerprints can, you know, you're unique.
51:38 So if your phone is capable of enabling biometrics, you can enable that in your Gcash.
51:44 Also voice, no? There's also some.
51:45 No, just biometrics.
51:46 For Gcash, it's biometrics.
51:47 Biometrics, so it's very helpful, especially for our older adults who keep on forgetting.
51:54 So you can never forget. Just, you know, position your face in front of your phone, then it's already safe.
52:02 But, you know, we don't have much time left.
52:05 But before we go, I would like to say happy birthday from Kibu.
52:10 Show it now.
52:11 Rolling.
52:12 Happy birthday.
52:13 Happy birthday to our very energetic and very dynamic marketing director.
52:19 Beautiful.
52:20 Because, Lujain, you're so beautiful.
52:23 Beautiful.
52:24 Beautiful.
52:25 Happy birthday to Miss Lujain Echavez, our marketing adept.
52:30 She's the one who's the mom, right?
52:32 Happy birthday, mom.
52:35 So, Lujain is our marketing director who's small but very powerful.
52:42 Dudong can be happy.
52:44 She's capable. Dudong can be happy.
52:47 So, happy birthday, Lujain, from BTH and your Sunstar family.
52:53 What are the other viewers there celebrating their birthday?
52:57 Birthday? Happy birthday to you.
52:59 There are a lot of viewers. Chris Evert Lato Rufulo is watching us, Mildred.
53:06 Okay. Hi, Chris.
53:08 Hi, Chris.
53:09 There are a lot of viewers.
53:11 There are a lot of Chris viewers.
53:13 Arielle Otumay.
53:16 It's good that you're here.
53:18 Give a shout-out to my viewers.
53:21 It's not your birthday, Arielle, but okay.
53:25 How are you? You're very busy, Arielle.
53:27 Aaron Velasco from Dipolog.
53:29 Dramatically, Dudong is famous.
53:31 If you go to Dipolog, you'll be the mayor again.
53:34 Ivan Patrick Calongso, also from Dipolog.
53:36 He's handsome.
53:38 Alvin Tan Cortez.
53:40 Nisa. How are you, Nisa? Good morning.
53:42 Good afternoon, Nisa.
53:44 And, of course, Sohusan Sikso.
53:49 Then, who else?
53:51 Okay.
53:52 Watching us from Dul-Dul Dumanjog.
53:56 Romilo Perez.
53:59 Romilo Perez.
54:01 He's a father to a child named Belyare Atisha.
54:06 She has a liver problem.
54:08 She needs to go to India for a transplant.
54:12 Mildred, you're very proud of GM Velasco.
54:15 Read his message.
54:17 [Speaking Filipino]
54:28 Anyway, there's something for Chris.
54:30 Still can't log in for face verification.
54:34 Even if we have Wi-Fi, please take action.
54:38 We can get the number.
54:40 Yes, maybe.
54:42 Don't share it in the chat.
54:48 You can send it to us via inbox so we can share it to Chris.
54:52 It's more safer there.
54:53 Please don't send it here.
54:54 Yes, definitely we can assist.
54:56 [Speaking Filipino]
54:59 Mark Michael watching us.
55:01 Okay.
55:03 I think we've read everything.
55:05 Read last.
55:07 [Speaking Filipino]
55:15 Okay.
55:16 It's exactly 1 p.m.
55:18 I hope we learned a lot from Ms. Chris Cahir from GCash.
55:22 Again, as she said, we cannot overemphasize the need for security.
55:30 We know how valuable your savings, your money on GCash.
55:34 But they cannot protect it if you voluntarily share information.
55:38 So, again, protect it with your life.
55:42 Never share.
55:44 You can share your love, but not your OTP or your MP.
55:50 [Speaking Filipino]
55:55 Life is going to be difficult.
55:57 [Speaking Filipino]
56:00 But if there is something suspicious, it's always safe not to do anything about it.
56:06 Forget it.
56:07 So, again, for those who just tuned in, you can watch the episode today again
56:12 on Facebook pages of Sunstar Cebu, Super Balita, and Sunstar Philippines.
56:17 Don't forget to replace the English newspaper with Sunstar Cebu
56:23 and the Cebuan newspaper with Super Balita Cebu.
56:27 [Speaking Filipino]
56:37 Before we continue, acting Mayor Alvin Garcia, just a press conference this morning,
56:46 finally released the salary of his four employees last Thursday.
56:53 [Speaking Filipino]
57:00 So, I hope the problem in the City Assessor's Office is fixed
57:04 so that the public can receive their services.
57:07 [Speaking Filipino]
57:12 [Speaking Filipino]
57:24 Thank you, Krista, for coming over.
