00:00Birmingham City defeated Skybet League 1, the first time Blues have been in the third tier of English football since 1995.
00:09A horrendous day for the football club, but actually a strong performance on the pitch
00:14against the Norwich City side that is chasing for promotion to the Premier League.
00:18A 1-0 win, Pike Hung-Sung-Ho's header from a deflected Keshi Anderson cross was enough to seal all three points today,
00:24but results elsewhere meant that Blues were relegated.
00:27Unfortunately, heading into this final day, Birmingham were in the bottom three.
00:31One point below Plymouth and three points behind Sheffield Wednesday, three behind Blackburn Rovers.
00:36All three of those teams winning on the final day, and a remarkable final day in the Championship.
00:41I don't think anyone would have expected all of the teams to go on and win their matches,
00:45especially with some of the oppositions they had.
00:48Plymouth against Hull, Sheffield Wednesday against Sunderland, Blackburn against Leicester.
00:53Three really tough games for them, and two of those being away from home as well.
00:57But, as it was, all three of those teams did win, and Birmingham's fate was sealed,
01:01despite three points being claimed here at St Andrews.
01:05Gary Rout, his final game in charge in his interim period.
01:08Eight matches it was, managed three home wins here at St Andrews at Nighthead Park, but ultimately not enough.
01:14I think the two draws away at Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town will be the ones that people look back at as the recent failures.
01:21Had they won just one of those matches, Blues would still be in the Championship for next season.
01:25But just the whole campaign on the whole really, just the inconsistency with managers,
01:30having six different voices through the course of the 46-match campaign.
01:35Of course, we couldn't have foreseen what was going to happen with Tony Mowbray.
01:38That was completely unexpected, but some of the earlier decisions at the start of the campaign could have definitely been helped.
01:44So, I think that's obviously contributed to how things have gone.
01:47But you can't really deny the fight today against Norwich, a very good performance.
01:51There were times during the first half where maybe Blues were a little bit passive and they didn't show enough energy.
01:56But I think it was just recouping that energy to try and push on and get that winning goal.
02:00And they did, and they did their part.
02:02And I must say the fans here were fantastic from start to finish.
02:06Before the game, I don't think I've ever seen it as loud and proud as it was.
02:10Tom Wagner as well, of course, the owner, he was very present.
02:14He could have easily stepped away knowing that Birmingham could face relegation today.
02:18He could have hidden away from it because it's a very difficult day for him.
02:21He's going to face a lot of criticism.
02:23But fair play to him.
02:25He was here as Birmingham were relegated, and the fans, as I said, were absolutely spectacular.
02:30Lucas Djukovic as well, the club legend, getting on for the final 25 minutes or so.
02:34I thought, is he going to get that dream goal on his probably last appearance?
02:38He didn't. He put it wide.
02:40Nonetheless, some sliding tackles, putting out all his passion onto the field, as he always does.
02:44It was nice to see.
02:45But ultimately, a terrible day for Birmingham, and we'll be reflecting on it on birminghamworld.uk.
02:51Also the press conference with Gary Rowett and David Wagner.
02:54Some nice words from the Norwich City boss.
02:56Make sure to catch it all on the website birminghamworld.uk.
