Amber Warren and Arthur Boyd of Cruush talk about life on the Manchester music scene
Transcript
00:00 What's it like being part of the Manchester music scene in 2024?
00:04 To be honest at the moment it feels really really good.
00:07 When we were first in Manchester it was pretty dead.
00:15 I think we came in 2017.
00:18 2017, oh my god, yeah.
00:20 We came here, we're all from smaller towns.
00:24 We came to Manchester being like, "Oh it's going to be like Mecca."
00:28 And it's just going to be amazing.
00:32 Loads of bands spin out every bar you go to and stuff like that.
00:36 But it was pretty dead and not very inspiring like we said before.
00:40 But it's just one dead indie genre that was dominating.
00:48 But at the moment it's much more diverse, a bit more alternative.
00:54 Loads of really great promoters who have come up loads in the past few years
00:58 who are putting on more interesting shows.
01:03 And there's a lot of bands who are different genres.
01:07 You still have a tie with them.
01:10 There's a bit of a kindred spirit.
