Flights were diverted, delayed and cancelled at Liverpool John Lennon Airport on Monday due to a power failure

00:06 due to a power failure. The outage lasted from around 10 to 2 until around 3.10pm on
00:13 Monday afternoon. In a statement a spokesperson from the airport explained, "Unfortunately
00:18 a power failure is impacting air traffic control and aircraft operations are temporarily suspended.
00:26 Passengers or those missing flights should contact their airline for the latest information."
00:31 Some flights headed to Liverpool were diverted to Manchester Airport whilst others were cancelled.
00:38 For those hoping to claim compensation though, unfortunately due to this being considered
00:42 an extraordinary circumstance, passengers do not qualify for compensation.
00:48 In an update issued just after 3.10pm, a spokesperson for the airport said our engineers have resolved
00:54 the earlier air traffic control power issue and aircraft operations have now resumed.
