00:00 I don't think Hindutva at any time can penetrate into Tamil Nadu, not only Coimbatore.
00:05 That is what happened even in the last election.
00:09 The same result is going to happen again in Tamil Nadu.
00:13 BJP will be totally routed out of Tamil Nadu, even this time.
00:26 Even in Mettupalayam, which is supposed to be a sensitive area,
00:30 where the Muslim minority population is a bigger pocket,
00:36 even there they conducted a road show.
00:39 But it was not that much effective.
00:42 Even in Coimbatore it was not a success for them.
00:45 Modi's visit totally was not a success.
00:47 Coimbatore is basically multifaceted actually.
00:55 Once it was called the Manchester of South India.
00:58 And next to Chennai it is an industrial hub, educational hub and medical hub also.
01:05 We have some good hospitals.
01:07 In spite of all these things, we are very peace-loving people.
01:15 We don't like people making much noise over here.
01:20 We mind our own business.
01:22 That is what Coimbatore is.
01:24 Even the language is very respectable, the language we use actually.
01:28 It's mainly because of social media.
01:36 Not practically, not in the reality, not in the ground.
01:41 They don't have the party structure.
01:43 They are very noisy in social media. That's it.
01:47 North Indian media actually doesn't know about the real ground situation here.
01:52 So that's why they think whenever they see it in social media,
01:57 they think they are very much powerful or maybe they are very much present here.
02:01 But it is quite opposite here.
02:04 Even BJP party is aggressive.
02:09 The same thing is like that. His character is also very aggressive.
02:13 Even he is at times threatening the press people also.
02:18 Even if you ask some questions, you get a threat as an answer.
02:22 You might see in the picture also.
02:24 So that will not work in Coimbatore.
02:27 There are some ideas coming out from the social media.
02:35 Some youngsters are speaking about that.
02:37 But that has not changed the way it is in Tamil Nadu.
02:41 Because Dravidian model is well suited for Tamil Nadu.
02:45 Hindutva is not suited for Tamil Nadu.
02:48 Because Hindutva is nothing but divide and rule.
02:52 Actually we people are very intelligent.
03:00 What I am telling is, we also worship.
03:03 We are God fearing.
03:05 But that is different. Politics is different.
03:08 Life is different here.
03:10 So it has not changed the ideology of the party and the people.
03:16 He doesn't come here when we are in trouble.
03:22 When Tamil Nadu needs the most during natural disasters, he doesn't come.
03:28 But now he comes only to get votes for his candidates.
03:33 That is the reason.
03:35 So even that the people are very much particularly noting it.
03:40 He is not cared about Tamil Nadu or South India in other times when the people need him.
03:48 Whatever it is, they are trying to penetrate Tamil Nadu.
03:55 I think that is worrying them very much.
03:58 That is not even a single seat in the past many years.
04:00 So they want very much their presence in Tamil Nadu.
04:04 And also they say they will be getting less number of seats in North India.
04:10 The problem is we want to be a bit independent.
04:15 That is South India. I am talking about entire South India.
04:19 We want to be independent.
04:21 But what they are doing in spite of that, they are taking back all the powers slowly.
04:26 For example NEET.
04:28 NEET is another form of getting away from the state actually.
04:32 So that is the basic policy of Dravidian rule actually.
04:36 We are India but we want an independent state.
04:41 So that is why because we remained as an independent state,
04:46 that is why we are that much developed sort of states here.
04:52 For example, for education, school education, we are spending more than 30,000 crores per annum.
04:57 Education wise, health wise, that is all possible because we are independent.
05:04 But they are slowly taking away all the powers from the state.
05:08 So that is also not acceptable for the South Indian people totally.
05:13 The basic problem, not a problem, basic why we are contesting in DMK is
05:25 we don't have any MLAs here. Not even one.
05:29 So we want a representative for administrative purposes and for any other purpose.
05:35 We want a representative.
05:37 So this is a very good golden chance we found that we can have a representative
05:42 and we know very fairly well the schemes of the Chief Minister has reached the people,
05:49 to the root level of the people.
05:51 You can come and see with us during the campaign, how the people receive us,
05:55 how they welcome us, especially the women folk.
05:58 So we are very, very confident, we are very comfortable.
06:01 No anti-incumbency.
06:03 Even I was surprised, not even a single complaint.
06:06 Minority people usually they stand with the DMK.
06:10 In this juncture, in this battle, this is more than 100%.
06:20 After the demise of JLLUTA, entire scenario has changed in ADMK.
06:26 That is supposed to be, they are considered as the team B of BJP.
06:30 It is BJP's B team.
06:32 So no use talking about ADMK at present juncture.
06:36 That's gone case. That's over.
06:39 Now they seem to be fighting against each other, but after the elections,
06:44 again they will have this thing, a pact and understanding.
06:48 What is your view on the politics of the BJP?
06:52 Politics, it interested me, it attracted me.
06:56 So it started, I climbed the ladder in the proper way.
07:01 From the students wing, youth wing, then party.
07:04 I was the youngest mayor, I think, in Coimbatore.
07:07 What is your view on the politics of the BJP?
