Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder offers an update on the Blades' recruitment search ahead of what he feels is the most important window in the last "nine or 10 years"
Transcript
00:00 Is there an update or a latest on the appointment of recruitment staff?
00:05 Steve Bettis came in, he was talking about this sort of thing and there's kind of a process underway.
00:10 Are they going to be in so that they can start?
00:14 Yeah, they have to. I mean, I've got to say, I would say regardless of what division that we're in,
00:19 it most probably would be the most important window for the last nine years, nine or ten years.
00:25 We've got to get it right. So we have to get it right in terms of a lot of ways,
00:30 from terms of the ability of the players that we're bringing in and most importantly for me,
00:34 from the cultural point of view, the personality point of view and the attitude point of view
00:39 and the identity of what this team needs to get back to looking like.
00:45 So, massive window for us. We all understand and know there's going to be a lot of players going back
00:50 that have been out on loan to us. There's going to be a lot of players that are out of contracts as well
00:57 and potentially there might be a few sales as well in there. So, it's a huge window you have to get right.
01:03 We have to go through a process as well. You know, we can't just go, well, we've gone and pick him
01:10 or we've got to get the best people for the job that fits in with what will work with me,
01:16 what will work with the coaching staff and what is right for the football club in terms of these people,
01:21 the work ethic, who they're looking for and the help that they'll give us, me, the staff and the football club,
01:28 to identify the right players for us going forward.
