Chris Wilder says Sheffield United are getting him at his best after he made an emotional return to Bramall Lane
Transcript
00:00 It's a bit surreal, but getting back into work this morning and being at a place I love,
00:05 a special place for me, seeing old faces, seeing new faces as well,
00:10 and I'm delighted to get back into the game.
00:13 It's a huge challenge, so how do you attack that challenge
00:16 and how do you approach this game with Liverpool?
00:20 Well, with our own personality and characteristics,
00:22 we feel, through myself and my coaching and managerial career
00:26 and the guys that we've brought in, the qualities that we can bring in,
00:30 hopefully, to improve the situation that we're in.
00:33 It's not a great situation, everybody knows that.
00:35 It is the best league in the world, everybody knows that,
00:37 and we're playing Liverpool first game up, so thanks very much for the fixture list.
00:41 But, listen, 30,000-odd in Bramall Lane on a Wednesday night under the lights
00:46 against arguably one of the best teams in Europe is a tough start,
00:50 but one that we can go and attack and have a right go,
00:52 and I think that's going to be the attitude from me and the players,
00:57 to reignite the supporters, because there has been a little bit of a disconnect,
01:01 especially over the last two games.
01:03 A lot of good things have happened over the last two years here at this football club,
01:06 getting back into the Premier League,
01:08 and we're here for a reason and we've got to enjoy that challenge,
01:12 and that's my message to the players,
01:14 and the players have got to set the ball rolling to connect with those supporters,
01:20 because, as we all know, under the lights at Bramall Lane,
01:24 it's a fabulous place to go and play football, and nothing to lose.
