Godzilla, Oscar newbie, stomps into the Academy Awards

For the first time in its 70-year history, Godzilla will make its debut at the Oscars on March 10th. The 37th film in the franchise, is nominated for best visual effects. Despite its longstanding presence in cinema, Godzilla has never been part of the Academy Awards scene, usually sticking to its stomping grounds in the Pacific Ocean and the realm of action-packed movies rather than the glitz of Hollywood's biggest night.
