00:00 Half term can be a great time to explore the city as a family,
00:05 however, finding activities when the weather isn't always in your
00:09 favour is no mean feat. It can also be pretty expensive. We have a
00:13 round-up of activities which hopefully won't break the bank whilst
00:17 keeping the whole family entertained. Royal Albert Dock Liverpool is
00:22 welcoming the return of Fiesta Fire, bringing a spectacle of fire and
00:27 light to the Martin Luther King Jr. plateau with choreographed fire
00:31 shows, freestyle fire performers from Bring the Fire Project. Showing
00:36 off their pyro skills throughout the week, expect dazzling martial arts
00:39 inspired routines, flaming sword fights and more. That runs until
00:43 Saturday 17th February. This February half term the Palm House hosts
00:48 FebFest, a week packed full of events. They've also launched a brand new
00:53 family trail which is available any time but on Thursday 15th February
00:57 along with the trail there are also some short children's stories and
01:01 craft activities on offer too. All National Museum's Liverpool venues
01:06 are free to enter as well as permanent collections that have various
01:09 workshops on offer. You can discover objects from around the globe,
01:13 explore outer space and meet live creatures at the World Museum.
01:17 Paintings, sculptures and decorative art are on display at the Walker
01:21 Gallery. Learn about the city's history at the Museum of Liverpool.
01:25 Explore the house of George Holt and his family, a Victorian merchant at
01:29 Sudley House. Plus discover Liverpool's seafaring past and find out about
01:32 life at sea at the Maritime Museum. A place where your children are free to
01:37 splash, squirt, splatter and shoot paint at a wall and you don't even have
01:41 to clean up after. Splash Art is inviting parents and grandparents to
01:45 bring their kids aged 3-12 along during half term. The hour long session
01:49 includes a dart art game and a spin art experience as an opportunity to
01:53 blast each other in the dark with neon paint filled guns. They can even take
01:56 their art home with them at the end. There are no shortage of green spaces
02:00 in Liverpool. Just don't forget to wrap up and wear some footwear you don't
02:04 mind getting a little muddy. From Sefton, Calderstones and Croxeth to name
02:08 just a few it can be a great way to kill time for free.
02:12 Kids go free at Nosy Safari this half term until Thursday 29th February.
02:18 You can discover the pride of African lions, crumpet, the Congo buffalo,
02:22 calf and the cheeky baboons who were all stars of Channel 4's Secret Life
02:26 of the Safari. If you're worried about the baboons causing damage to your
02:30 vehicle in the monkey jungle there is a car friendly route plus the safari's
02:35 baboon bus is also available to ride on. As well as costing nothing to enter
02:40 and explore, Liverpool Cathedral have some themed arts and craft sessions
02:45 during half term. Each family friendly session lasts up to 45 minutes.
02:50 There are three sessions throughout the day though these must be pre-booked
02:53 and each person is required to have a ticket.
02:57 We do hope that has given you some ideas for a fun filled half term no matter
03:02 your budget.
