00:00 Whether you're brand new to Liverpool and all it has to offer or you just want a refresher,
00:06 we have the inside scoop on the best places to eat, drink and explore in this vibrant
00:10 city for those students who are pinching the pennies.
00:15 Named as one of the UK's best shopping streets due to its eclectic mix of independent shops,
00:20 cafes and bars, Bold Street will keep you coming back for more.
00:24 As far as food goes, it's a world on one road with everything from Turkish, Lebanese, Korean
00:29 and Mexican to name just a few.
00:31 Get your taste buds tingling without breaking the bank, there's plenty of cheap eats to
00:35 grab.
00:36 The road is pedestrianised too meaning if the sun's shining you can soak up the sun
00:39 there but if you're after an even more casual experience you can always get your food and
00:44 drinks to go and head up to the steps of St Luke's, known locally as the Bondout Church.
00:50 With purple flag status, Liverpool's diverse nightlife has a lot to offer.
00:53 Concert squares is as popular with students as it is with stag and hen-doos from out of
00:58 town so it does get pretty packed out over the weekend but we all know Thursday is student
01:02 night.
01:03 Seal Street is the central hub of the nightlife in Liverpool.
01:06 The range of venues span the entire street and we also have the Baltic Triangle on the
01:10 outskirts which is brimming with cool bars, street art and Liverpool's first street food
01:14 market.
01:16 Now let's talk getting around.
01:18 If you're sticking to the city centre, it's very walkable but do make sure you're wearing
01:22 sensible footwear as some of the cobbled streets are a little tricky underfoot.
01:26 If you're venturing further afield you can either hop on a bus with an adult single costing
01:31 no more than £2.
01:32 If you prefer trains though, the Maysdale Network is another great way to discover the
01:36 city.
01:37 Alternatively, you can hop on a Voyee scooter.
01:40 All users must have at least a provisional driving licence and don't drink and ride.
01:45 Whether you're a culture vulture, history book or just want to learn more about the origins
01:50 of the city, there is a museum for you.
01:53 All are free to enter and have sizeable collections though be warned some exhibitions at a few
01:57 of the sites will set you back.
01:59 Down at the waterfront, the Museum of Liverpool explores the city's history.
02:03 A short walk over to the Royal Albert Dock you can find Tate Liverpool as well as the
02:07 Maritime and the International Slavery Museum.
02:11 Across town over on William Brown Street, the World Museum features a planetarium as
02:15 well as approximately 80,000 artefacts from across the world and the Walker Art Gallery
02:20 has paintings, sculptures and art from the 13th century to present day.
02:25 When the sun is shining, which it sometimes does here in these parts, there's no shortage
02:30 of green spaces in Liverpool in which to enjoy it.
02:33 Sefton Park is more than 150 years old and can be explored on foot or on two wheels.
02:38 The 200 acre site holds green flag status and with a lake, cafes and tennis courts you
02:44 can spend hours getting lost there.
02:46 And don't forget to visit the Grade 2 listed Palm House nestled within the grounds.
02:50 The glass conservatory provides a welcome warm relief from the biting cold in winter.
02:56 Whether you're new to the city or just need a refresher, Liverpool is a city packed full
03:01 of things to do and see which won't break the bank.
