00:00 As we all know too well, no college football team is able to avoid injuries.
00:05 It is more so a matter of how many players can remain healthy during the
00:09 season. For the Texas Longhorns, losing the star running back in Jonathan Brooks
00:13 was a major blow. Brooks was on track to have a historic season having rushed for
00:19 1139 yards and 10 touchdowns. But unfortunately his season was cut short
00:24 due to a torn ACL back in October. Anytime Brooks touched the ball it was a
00:30 big play waiting to happen. Starting tackle for the Longhorns, Christian Jones
00:34 addressed the struggles that came with losing Brooks saying quote, "We had to
00:39 come together as a team and really rally and understand that our job up front has
00:43 to become even more elevated. We battled through some adversity and I love how
00:48 our team bounced back and continued to find ways to win this season." Peeking at
00:54 the perfect time, the Longhorns narrowly escaped TCU and then went on to win
00:59 their next three games by an average of 29 points. The next task for Texas will
01:05 be one of their greatest as they must face Heisman Trophy runner-up in Michael
01:10 Pinnock Jr. and his Washington Huskies with a chance to play in the college
01:15 football playoff national championship on the line. Jones will have his work cut
01:19 out for him in slowing down Washington's pass rush which is led by Braylon
01:23 Trice who has five sacks and is constantly getting pressure on opposing
01:28 quarterbacks. The Allstate Sugar Bowl will take place at 745 in New Orleans.
