00:00 It was a picture perfect day here at Dishfault Field as the Texas Longhorns
00:05 get the series win against the Cal Poly Mustangs with their second straight
00:09 shutout with a 6-0 final. After LBJ's performance last night, today would be a
00:15 tough one to top but California native Charlie Hurley got the start for the
00:19 Horns and eventually his first win of the season as he went six innings giving
00:24 up four hits, no runs, with three strikeouts. Head coach David Pierce
00:29 commented on Hurley's performance saying he just needed to grow up and he just
00:33 needed to be Hurley. In relief for Hurley, righty Grant Fontenot came in and
00:38 went one and two-thirds innings with no runs or hits, walking two and getting
00:43 three K's. And to close out the game it was the lefty from Houston in David
00:48 Shaw going one and one-thirds inning with one hit, one walk, and three K's as
00:53 well. Right fielder Max Below earned his first hit in Burborn by the likes of a
00:59 oppo two-run homer making it a three-nothing game in the fourth. And then
01:04 it was center fielder Jared Thomas who continues to lead this Longhorns
01:09 offense batting 542 going two for four with two RBIs including a two-run homer
01:15 to further the Texas lead at five-nothing in the seventh. Texas would
01:21 end up plating a one more run in the eighth thanks to a wild pitch giving
01:25 the Horns the six-nothing and the series win over Cal Poly. Tomorrow the
01:30 Horns go for the sweep of the Mustangs with first pitch at 1 p.m. From Longhorns
01:35 Country, I'm Alexandra Cox.
