00:00 So it's the battle for Christmas number one, so who do you think should win, Fairy Tale
00:06 of New York, Last Christmas or All I Want for Christmas is You?
00:10 They're all so great but I think Fairy Tale of New York is the classic one.
00:15 Have you got a favourite Christmas song?
00:17 Probably Fairy Tale of New York, yeah.
00:19 I've no idea, I honestly have, but I would imagine it's going to be Shane McGowan and
00:23 the Pogues for obvious reasons.
00:27 What's your favourite Christmas song if you have one?
00:32 Suppose do they know it's Christmas, it's my era, the 80s, so probably that.
00:37 I'd say Mariah Carey.
00:39 Yeah, what do you like about it?
00:42 I mean, Being From India, that's the only song I've heard.
00:46 My favourites are Wham, I can't remember who it's by but my favourite Christmas song is
00:53 Fairy Tale of New York, I think it's just a classic.
00:56 Currently on track to take home the top spot this year is Last Christmas by Wham, but there's
01:01 some fierce competition going on in the music charts according to the official charts company.
01:06 Officials there say the 1986 hit may be overtaken at the last minute by the Pogues' Fairy Tale
01:12 of New York.
01:13 Since the band's frontman Shane McGowan sadly passed away at the end of last month, the
01:17 song has been climbing the ranks as people flock to listen to the late star's 87 tune,
01:22 which has never been in first place at Christmas time before now.
01:26 Also in the running is Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas Is You.
01:30 Recently this one jumped from sixth to second place, but only time will tell.
01:34 Here's what some of you lots would be in favour of for Christmas number one.
01:37 I've got to say I'm not a fan of the song, it's not my favourite Christmas song, but
01:41 I think it would be nice to commemorate him with a number one because he never hit that
01:45 while he was alive, which is sad, but I think for his friends and family it'd be nice to
01:48 see us all support him and get it to number one.
01:52 Yeah.
01:53 I just think that, I think it's a great song.
01:55 It should have been number one.
01:56 I'm surprised it wasn't number one years ago.
01:59 I'd say Wham!
02:00 White Christmas.
02:01 Yeah.
02:02 Yeah.
02:03 Who would you say?
02:04 I would say Wham! as well.
02:05 Yeah, I think so.
02:06 Or more, I don't really mind the post because the poor man died, so I think it would probably
02:12 be...
02:13 No, I think Bear It for it.
02:16 I'd probably be going from the 70s, so something like Greg Lake.
02:19 And I can't remember the title of it now.
02:26 It doesn't excite me.
02:27 That one doesn't excite.
02:28 What is number one, to be honest.
02:31 It doesn't excite me so much really, that one, but I think it probably might well be
02:37 number one.
02:39 I have my favourite, but I think he will because of him going so soon.
02:52 Fairy tale of New York, last Christmas or all I want for Christmas is you?
02:56 I think all I want is the final.
02:58 Do you have a favourite Christmas song?
03:00 I'm not really.
03:01 No.
03:01 I don't blame them.
