00:00 Hey guys, on behalf of Sports Illustrated, I am Melissa Amirita and I am super excited.
00:06 We are here with Eli Manning and Archie B. Manning on behalf of Quaker. Let's just dive
00:11 right into it. I gotta ask, first off the bat, Eli, you've got Eli's places on ESPN.
00:18 You've gone tubing with Coach Saban. Like, you've done such cool stuff. What is your most memorable
00:25 experience from the show? Well, I think it's gotta be dressing up as Chad Powers and trying to try
00:32 out for the Penn State football team. I think I would have made it until they called me out
00:37 and realized I didn't have any eligibility left. You know, my wig kind of started sweating a lot.
00:45 I was getting hot. I had to get out of the wig and the face, the new face mask, I guess I was
00:52 wearing. But it was a lot of fun to get out there, compete a little bit, and try to help some of
00:57 these kids make the team at Penn State. Archie, what do you think of that? Would you rather have
01:02 Chad Powers as a son or Eli? Like, where are we at? Where are we at with that? I liked Chad Powers.
01:08 I really enjoyed that. I'd heard about it, but I didn't see it until it actually came out. One of
01:14 the things that they didn't show on the Eli places is two of the Penn State coaches were talking to
01:20 each other. And one of them said to the other one, said, "You know, that Powers, he kind of looks
01:24 like Eli Manning." And the other one said, "No, he throws better than Eli Manning."
01:28 All right, guys. Thanksgiving is coming up. Do you guys have a Manning football
01:35 Thanksgiving game? Is that like a thing? Unfortunately not, just because
01:40 it's been hard to kind of get that tradition going around Thanksgiving,
01:46 because when Peyton and I were both playing professional football, we had practice on
01:51 Thanksgiving. So we didn't get to travel. We didn't get to see each other. So I think I was
01:55 trying to think about it. I think the last Thanksgiving we had as a whole family together
02:00 was probably the early 90s. I'm going to say 1992, maybe, was the last time we had a Thanksgiving day
02:07 and meal. So I get to do it. I have three girls. So Thanksgiving day, I'm like looking for a game.
02:15 I'm like, "Hey, who's got a football game? Who's playing in the neighborhood? I'll come be permanent
02:19 QB." And so I get a few offers every year to come play in the pickup football game on Thanksgiving
02:25 day, though. I miss that. It has been a long time since we've had Thanksgiving together. I wish we
02:32 could get everyone together and have a turkey bowl. That'd be fun. I'll be the referee.
02:38 If you guys do that, will you live stream it for the public? Because we really want to see that one.
02:45 100%. Archie, you guys have cemented yourself in the NFL football legacy. You're a dynasty family.
02:53 People will be talking about you for 100 years. If there was another sport that you were amazing
03:00 at and your kids were amazing at, what would it be? I was a baseball player. I was a baseball player.
03:05 All my youth, I got drafted out of high school by the Atlanta Braves. And I played college baseball.
03:13 Played at Ole Miss. We had good teams, played in the College World Series in Omaha,
03:17 and got drafted three more times. But I was also drafting football, and I thought that was the
03:24 course I wanted to take. Eli, I thought you'd be like golf or soccer, because your girls play
03:30 soccer. So I just assumed soccer would be where it's at. I think if I play soccer, I'd be the
03:36 goalie. That'd be my only chance. I wouldn't say I have great foot-eye coordination, I guess.
03:44 And so for me, golf is now my sport. In high school, though, I was a basketball player,
03:52 was my other sport. Played all through high school. I can also beat Peyton in basketball
03:58 and have repeatedly over the years. I assume you would ask that question and want to know,
04:04 and just want to get that out there. But Peyton was a good baseball player. I got the basketball
04:09 side just because I can jump so much higher than him. But now it's all golf.
04:17 Daniel Jones, his injury, extremely unfortunate. What do you think is next for the Giants?
04:23 Is Caleb Williams an option? I don't know what the game plan is. They'll figure that out. But
04:29 I think they have a lot of confidence in Daniel Jones. Obviously, last year, had a great season,
04:35 played well, got a playoff win. It's hard to win games in the NFL. It's hard to win a playoff game.
04:41 And unfortunately, this season has not gone as planned. He's been injured. There's been injuries
04:47 all over this, especially the offense. So it's just been a tough year. But I think in my mind,
04:56 Daniel's the guy. He's got a lot of talent left. He's going to work his tail off to get healthy,
05:02 get back. And there's a few pieces they can continue to add to this team. But there's a
05:08 great group of guys that are signed up for a number of years. And I think they can get it
05:13 back quickly and again, be a playoff team in the short term. Tell us more about this Quaker Oats
05:21 sponsorship. Yeah, really excited to kick off the first ever Quaker pre-grain tour, which is a
05:27 tailgate that is visiting NFL stadiums this year and introducing their new digital Quaker playbook,
05:34 which is 32 recipes representing all the NFL teams. And that tour will end at the Super Bowl
05:41 Taste of the NFL. And they'll announce their $250,000 donation to their longtime partner,
05:48 Gen Youth, which is a nonprofit organization that helps kids in their wellness and living a healthy
05:57 lifestyle. And so proud to partner with Quaker in this. They believe that circumstances of life
06:04 should never be a barrier to good nutrition. And it's been great to partner with them. It's been a
06:10 long time product that we've used in the Manning household. I eat my oatmeal every morning. My
06:16 kids eat it as well. And so it's been a lot of fun, my dad and I and two of my kids shot a
06:23 commercial for him this past summer and enjoyed that experience as well. Well, thank you guys so
06:28 much. It has been an honor to talk to you guys. On Baptist Sports Illustrated, I'm Melissa Amrita,
06:33 joined by two of the most legendary football players of all time, Archie Manning and Eli
06:38 Manning. And we really hope that you guys will join us again soon. Thank you, Melissa.
06:43 Thank you. Thank you for having us.
