00:04 >> You know that competitive effort all night for the Bells,
00:07 where did this one slip away at the end?
00:09 >> I think it slipped away throughout the course of the game.
00:15 Of course, we had some turnovers.
00:18 Me and Z, we had some turnovers at the end of the game.
00:22 Some missed free throws at the end of the game.
00:24 All things that we can correct, but
00:28 Houston, they executed at the right time at the end of the game.
00:31 So hats off to them.
00:33 >> You seem to find some nice opportunities in transition tonight.
00:37 How did you feel out there when you were leading those opportunities?
00:40 >> I felt better and better each game.
00:43 Getting the rhythm, getting the rhythm with the guys.
00:48 We had some different guys on the floor, and
00:53 different guys had to step up on the floor.
00:55 So I felt good in transition, we were running a little bit, and
00:59 guys found some open shots.
01:01 >> In the third quarter, much better execution,
01:04 much better result than you've had the last couple games out of the locker room.
01:07 Was there something different in your approach,
01:10 something different set in the locker room at halftime?
01:13 >> The defense was better, the defensive intensity.
01:16 I'm trying to keep guys at the lane, trying to make it hard for
01:19 Jalen Green, trying to make it hard for Fred Van Fleet.
01:22 And we tried to execute in that third quarter a little bit better than we had.
01:27 >> You got up 11 threes tonight.
01:29 Was that just the way the game fell?
01:32 Was it a rhythm thing, or did you go in thinking, I wanna get up more tonight?
01:36 >> That's what they gave me.
01:38 I saw some open shots, I saw some open looks.
01:40 And I know if some of my guys out there, I'm gonna have to take them.
01:44 Even when they're here, I'm gonna have to take them.
01:46 So felt today was a step in a good direction.
01:51 >> What did you think about Jordan struggling in the first half and
01:55 then coming out right after halftime and quick 12, got you guys back in the game?
01:59 >> Yeah, he's losing with confidence every time he steps on the floor.
02:05 No matter how many shots he misses, he knows he can shoot the basketball,
02:09 he knows what he can do.
02:10 He can be effective on the floor, and that's what he does.
02:13 >> What did you see just as far as the turnover,
02:15 especially here in that fourth quarter?
02:17 >> Physicality picked up a little bit.
02:19 Yeah, that's what it was,
02:23 physically picked up a little bit.
02:26 I think our execution had to be a little sharper in the fourth quarter.
02:30 Of course, we looked back at it and learned from it.
02:33 But just the physicality just picked up a little bit.
02:38 >> And just how much progress do you feel still needs to be made in those late
02:42 game situations with you and C just figuring out how to work together,
02:46 work off of each other just to get the best shots?
02:49 >> We'll figure it out.
02:50 Talented players with a lot of IQ on the basketball floor between me and Z.
02:57 We'll figure it out, of course.
02:59 We'll have CJ in the lineup, we'll have shooters in the lineup.
03:02 But we'll figure it out, we'll find mismatches on the floor, and we'll attack.
03:07 I think the good part about tonight is Dyson Daniels got better
03:14 at controlling the offense, getting to the rim, and making the right reads.
03:19 So we gotta help him out a little bit.
03:23 >> You mentioned CJ, how tough was it when you got to play Dyson 40 plus minutes,
03:27 Jordan Hawkins 40 plus minutes, just leaning on those young guys as much as you did?
03:32 You said they got better in this situation, but
03:33 it's just tough putting young dudes in those situations.
03:36 >> Yeah, it's tough, but it's an opportunity.
03:40 It's an opportunity to learn.
03:42 And I feel like they'll be in that situation again, and
03:47 we'll all learn from this down the stretch and execution.
03:51 And they'll feel a little bit better when we go through this again.
03:55 >> Thanks, CJ.
03:57 >> Appreciate you.
