00:00 Hi, Ron Quino here at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.
00:10 I'm with the refreshed 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe.
00:14 As you can see, Hyundai has done a lot of styling tweaks with this vehicle.
00:17 They have a whole new front end with a bigger, larger grill, redesigned headlamps, these
00:23 faux hood vents.
00:25 And then on V6 models, there will be available DRL LEDs.
00:31 So running around the vehicle, we have new wheels.
00:33 In back, there are some LED tail lamps.
00:36 The big news for this vehicle is under the hood.
00:39 The standard engine is a 2-liter turbo with a new twin-scroll turbocharger and a larger
00:44 intercooler.
00:45 The result is 274 horsepower and 275 pound-feet, so big jumps there.
00:51 And the available V6 gets direct injection, so that now makes 348 horsepower and 295 pound-feet.
00:58 Again, big jumps.
01:00 The standard transmission is a six-speed manual on both engines.
01:03 And new for this year is an eight-speed automatic with shift paddles.
01:06 So the motor trend, we really like the Genesis Coupe.
01:09 We picked it first in the last V6 comparison test with a refreshed 2013 Mustang.
01:15 The question is, can this new Genesis keep its title?
01:19 Stay tuned.
