00:04 >> So Ryan, you talked about the lack of size, but
00:08 here's where I'll give props to outling out.

00:13 >> Ron English.
00:14 >> He wants to say Alex English.
00:15 This is a basketball from the 1980s.
00:18 And then he's co defensive coordinator.
00:20 Let me just find the name of the other guy that is there.
00:24 The other co coordinator it is, of course, they don't have it listed on Wikipedia.
00:28 On Wikipedia, this is the most like Jeff Brom thing ever.
00:31 On Wikipedia, they only have the off, they have Brom and
00:33 then the offensive coach listed.
00:35 So like if that's not like the most, I'm like, hey guys,
00:38 they're actually playing a little bit defense this year.
00:40 But the other D coordinator is Mark Hagan, who is their defensive line coach.
00:45 But Ron English is running the defense right now.
00:48 He should be a name Notre Dame fans are familiar with.
00:50 He was at Michigan for a while back in the day in some of those games.
00:54 So he plays to it well, Ryan.
00:57 I think this is, he's walking in a situation where the personnel actually fits
01:02 what he likes to do, in my opinion.
01:04 He likes to be aggressive.
01:05 He likes to attack.
01:06 He likes to let guys fall, fly around.
01:08 I think at times Ron English's defense can be very, very big play prone.
01:14 And doesn't always necessarily, yeah, doesn't always have the most discipline.
01:20 But he's had some success.
01:23 I mean, he was with Brom for two years at Louisville.
01:26 I mean, excuse me, at Purdue.
01:28 They were together there.
01:29 So he's a guy that Jeff Brom brought with him from Purdue.
01:33 And what's funny is, Ryan, when you look at, they weren't great on defense last
01:38 year, but Ron English's first year at Purdue, they were pretty good on defense.
01:41 >> Thank you.
