00:00 The victims of the Umanoy Crypto Scam are actors Mikey Quintos and Paul Salas, along with seven others.

00:09 They were fined more than 8 million pesos.

00:13 Jonathan Andal has a spot report.

00:15 Mikey Quintos, Paul Salas and seven others filed a complaint against the Fiscalia in Makati.

00:24 They were fined 8 million pesos for the Umanoy Crypto Scam by the Cronos Holdings Corporation for five years.

00:32 They were promised to be paid 5% compounding interest every month.

00:38 Quintos got this amount in one year of his investment.

00:41 But this May, they were given a special deal where they will be paid double the amount within two weeks.

00:49 Two weeks passed, three weeks, we were given a month, and we were not given anything back.

00:55 So I think that's their modus.

00:57 They will take care of you first.

00:59 You give a sufficient amount or a big amount, they got more or less 8 million pesos from us.

01:05 They ran away.

01:06 According to the victim's lawyer, one of the Umanoy members is graduating from college.

01:10 This is syndicated staff. This is life imprisonment. This is no bail.

01:14 It's a waste. They are pitiful. They are still young.

01:17 Approach us. We're willing to sit down and discuss this.

01:22 Otherwise, we will push through with this case.

01:24 The company is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

01:28 But based on their Certificate of Incorporation that we got from Mikey's camp,

01:33 the Cronos Holdings Corporation cannot accept investment without a secondary license from the commission.

01:40 We went to the address of the company in Taguig, but the barangay said that there is no such address there.

01:45 They also have an office in Makati, but the guard said that it's been a long time since one of the complainants went there.

01:51 They also said that two of the complainants are not living in a house in Paranaque.

01:56 They also did not respond to texts and calls. We are still trying to get hold of all the complainants.

02:01 The SEC also reminded the residents not to join foreign currency trading, especially if their status is not fully understood.

02:09 Receipts were also asked for transactions and before signing any document,
