00:00 Raid is an office in Pasay that is haunted by various cybercrimes.
00:05 A studio was discovered there that is used for video calling on the targets of love scams.
00:13 John Consulta has a report.
00:15 This house is a regular office or call center in Zamora Street, Pasay City.
00:25 But it is used for various types of cyber scams, like love and cryptocurrency scams,
00:32 even for task scams.
00:34 Someone will send you a message, "Like this post or share this post, you'll get maybe 100 pesos or 1,000 pesos."
00:40 So you'll be tricked.
00:41 When you reach a stage where you'll earn a lot,
00:45 they'll ask for a small amount of investment to unlock it.
00:49 They'll say, "There's a problem with the processing, I'll pay a little."
00:53 And that's where they'll lure their victims.
00:55 In the negotiation of the authorities,
00:57 they used many SIM cards, cell phones, and other devices.
01:01 And there's even a script for the victims.
01:04 Aside from the workstation, you can also see on the 5th floor,
01:08 this is their studio that they use for their operations.
01:12 When their target requests a video call,
01:15 they entertain this video call in this room so that they can go out of the house or rest.
01:22 But when the client requests a video call in their workplace,
01:28 this is the studio that they use.
01:33 But all of these are not real.
01:36 These books are fake.
01:39 At first glance, you think they're real, but they're all made of cardboard.
01:46 In this area, we can see the different types of clothes that they wear
01:53 to lure their target victims.
01:58 According to the Department of Justice and the NBI,
02:01 this facility has been operating for more than a month
02:05 before they were seen and lured.
02:07 The company's license is legitimate as a POGO operator,
02:11 but it's only fraud.
02:12 Of the 650 individuals, more than 400 are Filipino.
02:17 Almost 200 are Chinese and Indian.
02:19 The company's leaders are still trying to figure out who they are.
02:22 The raid, which was part of the discussion in the Senate hearing on human trafficking,
02:27 was said by the PAG-CORP.
02:28 They inspected the facility a week ago.
02:31 They noticed some items that could be used for scams.
02:35 But the PAG-CORP did not pass the report to their inspection.
02:39 I think it's a remiss on our part.
02:42 Some senators are asking for a POGO to be terminated
02:45 because there are no more people who can help the country.
02:47 But the PAG-CORP has a new framework to prevent POGOs from being used for illegal activities.
02:53 John Consulta reporting for GMA Integrated News.
