00:00 Days are getting shorter, the weather is getting colder and soon it will be winter in London.
00:06 So what is there to do now? Well, the West End is where it's at. Warm theatres, dinner
00:11 before a show, maybe a trip to Chinatown as well. Coming to see a play or musical in London's
00:18 most iconic area is often on the list of top things to do in the capital.
00:23 Wicked and Lion King are some of London's longest running productions here in the West
00:28 End. The Lyceum Theatre is one of the most renowned venues in London and premiered the
00:33 production of The Lion King in 1999. The musical is now the sixth longest running production
00:41 in the history of the West End.
00:46 Harry Potter is loved here in the UK and across the world. The Harry Potter and the Cursed
00:52 Child musical attracts thousands of tourists each year, all wanting to see the spellbinding
00:57 play at the Palace Theatre too.
01:01 The West End is also set to welcome some festive themed shows this December, with some familiar
01:06 Christmas themed productions heading to London's famous theatre district.
01:11 For comedy fans, a live in the flesh remake of Will Ferrell's Elf will be on at the
01:17 Dominion Theatre. Opening night is November 15th and the comedy Christmas production will
01:23 be on until January 6th.
01:26 As well as Elf is The Snowman, an iconic sad story about a boy who makes a friend that
01:31 then melts. It might be a bit too sad for me, but for those who can handle this rollercoaster,
01:37 the musical is on at the Peacock Theatre from November 18th until December 30th.
