Leeds United superfan Paul Smith from New Zealand visits Elland Road
Transcript
00:00 Hello all, my name's Paul and I'm from New Zealand. I came over yesterday to celebrate
00:04 being a Leeds fan for 50 years and it's been a roller coaster of 50 years and I
00:09 love it, wouldn't change it at all. I'm here for three weeks, gonna cheer the boys on to my night
00:14 when we beat West Bromwich Albion and then back here in a couple of weeks when we play Sheffield
00:18 Wednesday. I started following the night at Leeds in 1973, that fateful day at Wembley,
00:24 we were up against West Dunedin but we won't talk about that and I've been hooked ever since then.
00:30 This is my seventh trip over from New Zealand, it's been a blast so far. Previous visits here
00:36 I've been able to chat with players like Billy Bremner, Alan Clark, Eddie Gray, all the famous
00:41 names of the 70s, even players from the 80s. For the season it's going to be pretty tough,
00:48 being relegated last season but I know with the manager we have, a great manager,
00:53 he's going to take in teams and get them promoted and he's going to do the same for us.
00:57 Let's remain positive, let's get behind the guys. I'm here to give them my support all the way from
01:04 New Zealand, if I can do it so can you guys in Leeds. Let's get behind this team and let's get
01:09 them promoted.
