00:00 We're at the Linkager Wildlife Park for a very special day.
00:12 Steve, you're the CEO, tell us all about it.
00:15 Well our day today is basically celebrating tigers and everything tiger.
00:19 So the idea is to highlight the fight of tigers in the wild,
00:23 but at the same time do it with a little bit of fun so that the youngsters actually remember it.
00:27 And that's the idea of these guys being here.
00:30 If I had a big stuffed tiger here, I think people would like that.
00:32 Of course we have to take them where children are concerned.
00:35 If we can get some education out there, raise some funds for the guys back at home,
00:39 where the tigers are in danger, and use these to do it, then you just can't beat it.
00:44 And we've got a good few hundred people turned up.
00:47 So overall it looks like it's going to be a very good day.
00:50 Well they're having a bit of a snooze at the moment.
00:52 We're looking forward to seeing the show in a few minutes.
00:56 Tell us about the tigers. How many do you have here?
00:59 We've got five tigers here, and they're all Bengal tigers.
01:03 The plight of Bengal tigers is about 3,000 left in the wild.
01:06 There's actually more in captivity than there is in the actual wild, walking around in their own habitat.
01:13 With that in mind, what we're trying to highlight is we just need to protect them.
01:18 They're becoming, each species is becoming more and more endangered.
01:21 And we're down to some tigers where there's only 300 left.
01:24 So we know we can't just save them in one go.
01:28 So the general idea is to put as much publicity out there as possible,
01:31 highlight their plight, and at the same time have some fun.
01:35 Tigers are by far one of the most iconic creatures on the planet.
01:39 They're an apex predator, and everybody that's been here and been on a tiger tour today
01:43 have walked out either saying "wow" or with tears in their eyes.
01:47 When you actually see tigers, they're an amazing creature.
01:50 We've had them here now for nearly 10 years.
01:52 And fortunately, because of our social media and marketing,
01:58 we've done our little bit around the world.
02:00 And we have people from India.
02:02 And that's the idea of this being an Indian theme today,
02:04 is so that we can actually celebrate where tigers come from as well.
