00:00 Hey there, in this video I'm going to talk to you about animations in Keynote files.
00:04 So as you can see I'm currently in the presentation kit file full of pages you can copy paste and
00:11 various other resources that are going to help you in your Keynote journey. Among those resources,
00:16 all of those pages are already animated the right way. So this is a really nice resource to go back
00:23 to if you forget how to animate your pages properly. So to look at the animation currently
00:30 in use, all you have to do is go to the top right corner of Keynote and click on animate.
00:34 This way it's going to open this little panel that is going to tell you how the pages are animated.
00:40 In all of our animation we're using the push effect which looks a little something like this.
00:48 From a page to another being pushed by the next one. There's some variation between the structure
00:57 pages and the content pages where structure pages are being pushed bottom to top and the content
01:05 right to left like a book. So if you want to make sure that you're using the right one we're really
01:12 encouraging you to go back to this file and look at the animate panel. So when you get to your own
01:18 file then you can add your animation and to do so you only have to go in the animate panel again
01:25 and add an effect. And from here you're gonna look at push. If it's not in the most recent one used
01:32 it's gonna be in this appear and move section. And from here you can decide which animation suits it
01:39 the best. As in as I am in a content section we're gonna push right to left and the timing is the
01:48 same as the previous one which is 0.75 and then you can select also if you transition on click or
01:54 not. We usually recommend on click because otherwise everything is gonna go alone and it
01:59 can get a bit confusing. If you're in a structured page such as this one you can add an effect which
02:07 is going to be push but this time it's going to be bottom to top. And then you can have a preview by
02:14 doing play and there you go. This is pretty much anything you have to know about this. Remember you
02:21 can always go back to the presentation kit file to get some inspiration and know what's going on.
02:26 Unfortunately the animate setting cannot be included in the template in Keynote
02:32 but if you have any questions don't hesitate to let us know.
