00:00 Hello there.
00:01 In this video, I'm going to show you how to import a video in a Keynote file,
00:05 as well as the various settings revolving around it.
00:07 So let's say you made this file here and you would like to import
00:12 a video in this blank space.
00:13 All you have to do is head to the Media button at the top and then select Choose.
00:18 And from here, you can select the video you want on your computer and click Insert.
00:23 By default, it's going to make it full size,
00:25 but you can definitely scale it down and place it wherever you want.
00:30 As mentioned in the picture tutorial, we highly encourage you to use
00:36 the placeholder already available in our Keynote template to insert your videos.
00:41 But we know that sometimes videos require some specific layout.
00:47 So all you have to do for that is click to the Media button.
00:50 From here, you can click it once to have a preview of it.
00:54 And when you clicked it once on the Format and Movie tab,
00:59 you're going to see a couple of little settings.
01:01 Among them, the most important are here you can replace
01:05 the video you're using by clicking Replace.
01:08 Here you can trim the video, but removing a bit of the beginning,
01:11 a bit of the end if you want.
01:13 And here you can select if the video is going to loop or not.
01:17 And also if the movie is going to start by clicking while you're presenting
01:21 or if it's starting straight up when you start the page.
01:25 If you want to insert a video in a device like on this page here,
01:31 the process is the same as inserting a picture.
01:35 So you click on the placeholder icon, you select your file, and then it goes in.
01:40 As you can see, it's not exactly the same size as the placeholder.
01:45 Keynote is a bit restrictive regarding the sizes of video.
01:49 We cannot really crop them or whatever.
01:52 So this is why we decided to make placeholder devices
01:57 that are a bit out of frame, because this way you can cheat
02:01 and you can make the file a little bit bigger
02:03 and then place it in your device as if nothing happened.
02:06 Of course, it's going to cut a little bit of the content,
02:09 but if it's a visual mostly to inspire or not show in great detail,
02:14 this can be a really good option.
02:16 And then you can see it like this.
02:19 We also have a couple of other pages with other devices such as iPad
02:23 and iPhone that you can use.
02:25 We're going to cover that in a future video.
02:27 And that's it.
