00:00 Hi, today I'm going to do the look that I did on Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for the cover
00:08 of US Glamour that she did with One Direction and there are lots of images inside as well
00:13 and this came out last month.
00:15 And when I put the images on my website I had so many requests asking me to show you
00:21 all how to do this look and I think it's because it's just one of those classically beautiful,
00:26 quite sexy make-ups that can look great for a date, a girls' night out, a party, whatever.
00:33 And it was a really great day actually so I'm so pleased the make-up turned out and
00:37 the pictures turned out so well and all the boys in One Direction were just lovely, although
00:42 Harry is my favourite.
00:44 But I have a lovely model today, her name's Ella and let's get started.
00:51 So I'm going to start by using Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation and this is nice for creating
00:56 a natural but healthy base.
00:58 The colour I'm choosing is going to match up really well with Ella's body here at the
01:05 side of her neck and also her forehead.
01:08 Maybe feel slightly warm on the cheeks but I think it'll be good for evening everything
01:13 out.
01:14 So before I do concealer I'm going to do the eyes.
01:17 I'm just using a little bit of Urban Decay eye primer before we start.
01:23 First thing for eyes is this Rimmel palette called Orion which is really nice earthy tones
01:28 and I'm going to begin with this medium shade.
01:30 I'm going to use it all across Ella's eyelids so it's quite a soft shade but it's a good
01:37 base colour to work on top of.
01:41 So just really patting it into the lids.
01:44 Next I'm going to use this gel liner which is by L'Oreal so it's just plain black and
01:50 I'm going to do quite a thin line to start with, really working into the roots of the
01:59 lashes and because Ella's got quite fair lashes you need to really get right down in between
02:08 almost the roots of the lashes.
02:11 There's no point in drawing a line if it's not right down there otherwise when you open
02:16 your eyes you have this kind of strip of flesh which never really frames the eyes properly.
02:21 So I'm going to go right into the inner corner.
02:23 I'm going to stop about there and just thin that out and then at the outer corner I'm
02:28 going to raise, extend out.
02:32 So now I'm going to go all along the top of the upper waterline, just tight lining, really
02:39 in between the roots of the lashes and just go, look that way for me now, as far along
02:44 as the liner on the top.
02:47 You can do this with a pencil which is probably easier for most people but make sure you choose
02:52 a waterproof pencil.
02:54 Now I'm using the brown shade from the Eye Palette, just look down for me, actually close
02:57 your eyes, and I'm just going to really buff along the edge of the liner, so really softening
03:04 those edges all the way along and then taking the black with the eyeliner, just really lift
03:12 up and bring that black really thin into the inner corner, just pressing and dabbing it
03:19 in between the tiny lashes at the inner corner just to finish it off.
03:23 So I'm going to go back with the gel liner and this time I'm going to use it more as
03:27 an eyeshadow.
03:28 So putting my eyeshadow brush, blending it onto the back of my hand.
03:34 This is a really good way to kind of do quite a strong, long-lasting eyeshadow.
03:39 Then I'm going to dip into the brown shade from the palette, so this is Powder, and just
03:44 buff that all in so I'm left with a kind of smoky brown colour.
03:49 Just close your eyes for me.
03:52 I'm going to use this to create a sort of V shape, just at the outer edge, so it's a
04:02 little bit darker than the brown.
04:04 I'm also using it to smudge the outer edge of the liner.
04:09 Then I'm just going to use the Powder and just keep buffing that in.
04:15 Then going back to the original shade that I used all over the lid, I'm going to use
04:20 that as a transition shade here to blend the black and the dark shade into the centre of
04:27 the lid.
04:28 Just keep blending that.
04:29 Just open for me.
04:30 So you're just building depth.
04:32 So quite a bit has dropped down underneath, but I'm going to use that a little bit.
04:36 This is the black liner again, the liner brush and the brown eyeshadow from the palette.
04:43 Look up for me.
04:45 I'm going to just line at the outer edge, just along the lashes, about halfway along.
04:54 Then using the shadow alone, smudge that in.
04:57 Then using a Q-tip, smudge it in more.
05:01 I haven't used concealer yet, so I'm going to have to conceal anyway.
05:06 Right in that outer edge there where the liner is.
05:09 I can pretty much join them up together there.
05:14 Again, with some shadow, just smudge them.
05:20 Just keep using Q-tips because they're the best thing for smudging liner.
05:26 Then finish off by going along the whole of the lash line again, just with a tiny bit
05:31 of powder.
05:32 I'm really smudging and softening everything.
05:36 Okay, so before I clean up concealer and finish the skin, I'm going to completely finish eyes
05:43 because I need to lean on the skin and things.
05:45 I don't want to make that messy.
05:46 I'm just going to start by giving the eyelashes a really good curl.
05:51 So for mascara, I'm going to use Lash Blast Volume by CoverGirl.
05:56 This is a volumizing and waterproof mascara.
06:00 This looks quite good to use because it obviously is going to last a long time.
06:04 After we did the cover shoot, there was the One Direction concert, so I really wanted
06:09 Rosie's makeup to last.
06:11 Then mascara all the way along underneath as well, particularly at the outer corner,
06:18 the outer half really.
06:19 Make them nice and thick there.
06:23 So I'm just applying some fake eyelashes.
06:25 These are the individuals.
06:26 I'm using the, that's the glue actually, I'm just dipping into the glue.
06:30 I'm using the short ones in the center so they're quite bushy and just fill out the
06:35 volume and then the medium length ones at the outer edge.
06:39 I've got about five medium length ones there.
06:42 So just drop these on quite close to the roots of the lashes but not onto the skin.
06:49 I do have a really in-depth video of how to apply these so if you are struggling at all,
06:54 then do check that out.
06:57 So while the glue is drying from the lashes, I'm going to just clean everything up under
07:01 here.
07:03 So any black shadow that's dropped down, clean away.
07:09 And we can do concealer now.
07:12 That's just using the Bioderma Cleanser.
07:13 So I'm just going to smooth the edge of the foundation there again.
07:18 And now I'm going to use concealer and I'm using the Revlon Colorstay.
07:22 So I put a little bit of it on the back of my hand.
07:26 Look up for me.
07:28 I'm going to apply that all underneath the eyes and a little bit around the side of the
07:36 nose.
07:37 And then I'm just finishing off with a little bit of Pinpoint Concealing using the same
07:44 powder.
07:49 Just going to apply some powder to set any concealing that I've done.
07:54 Mainly forehead, around the sides of the nose, and a little bit under the eyes, maybe around
08:00 the center of the face and chin.
08:02 Just going really gently so I don't disturb any of the base.
08:07 So for eyebrows, I'm going to use this palette by Goss which is actually a really good one.
08:12 It's got great shades in it.
08:13 I'm just going to run the two lighter colors, the ashy brown colors, just along Ella's brows.
08:22 Just fill in whatever shape your brows are.
08:25 Just fill them in so they're not gappy and they're nicely polished.
08:31 Always keep brushing in between as well when you're putting powder shadow through them
08:35 because that way you can really see what's happening, how much it's developing and also
08:39 you're really helping to blend it in.
08:43 So I'm just staying with Ella's natural brow shape.
08:46 Rosie's are a little bit thinner than Ella's but short of plucking them, which I'm not
08:52 going to do, so just work with whatever shape you have.
08:56 So for bronzer I'm going to use this one by Elf which is a bronzing palette with four
09:01 shades in.
09:02 I'm going to mix those all together.
09:05 Just take my brush through all of the shades and then take a little bit off onto my arm
09:11 and then just start to really softly bring the bronzer through like contour.
09:17 Just bring the color softly along the cheekbone.
09:22 Not really so much as contour, a little bit contoury but a nice big shape so it's very
09:29 soft and glowy.
09:31 And this bronzer is nice because it has a little bit of shimmer in so it gives you that
09:33 kind of bronzy glow.
09:38 And then again down onto the jawline.
09:41 So a bit like a number three, you're kind of going along, down and up.
09:49 And really just have a small amount of product on the brush because you can always add more
09:54 but it's quite hard to take away if you put too much on.
09:58 If you do put too much on just use a disc of cotton wool, a dry disc, and you can just
10:02 buff over and take off the excess.
10:06 For blusher I'm going to use this really lovely rosy pink by Covergirl.
10:11 This is just really nice to use on top of bronzer.
10:15 You can sort of follow a similar shape but you just want it much softer instead of blending
10:23 in with the bronzer so you just get that nice kind of hint of pink coming through onto the
10:29 cheeks.
10:30 And then a tiny bit there, not much.
10:38 Makeup always works better when it's built up slowly so bear that in mind.
10:44 So before I do lips I'm going to use this as the lightest colour from the eyeshadow
10:47 palette as a highlighter.
10:50 So it's a sort of beige-y, shimmery beige colour.
10:53 I'm going to take that all along the top of the cheekbones and that just really pops beautifully
11:00 on the top of the blush as well.
11:03 And then exactly the same colour just into the inner corner of the eyes.
11:09 Close your eyes for me.
11:13 Just really lighten up those corners.
11:17 So to start lips I'm going to use a little bit of Lip Balm, just really blend that in,
11:23 rub it in.
11:24 Then on top of the Lip Balm I'm going to use this Always Toasted Lip Liner by L'Oreal.
11:32 This is just a really great nude, it's quite pale.
11:35 I'm just going to go all over the lips and then just start to really shape them.
11:43 Because it's a really good natural looking colour and quite pale you can really work
11:48 it into the lips without it looking too overdone.
11:53 Because I really defined Rosie's eyes quite a lot and kind of extended them out in this
11:57 sort of feline shape I gave her more of a natural looking lip so I'm going to use, I
12:03 gave her a sort of pinky lip, I'm going to use Pink Truffle and this is one of the lip
12:07 butters by Revlon and these are really lovely sheer lipsticks and they're very moisturising
12:16 so they feel really nice.
12:19 So that's the finished look, have a look in the mirror for me.
12:23 What do you think?
12:24 Yeah it looks great.
12:25 It looks very very glamorous doesn't it?
12:27 It's a super glamorous makeup and I think it's one of those just classically gorgeous
12:32 glamorous makeups.
12:33 It sort of looks still fresh and healthy because you've got all the bronzer and the highlighter
12:39 and the very sort of natural lip but then these really smouldery eyes that are kind
12:43 of brought out quite feline shape and I think it looks, really really suits you actually.
12:48 Thanks for watching.
12:55 Bye.
