Bus Stop is a 1956 romantic comedy-drama directed by Joshua Logan, starring Marilyn Monroe, Don Murray, Arthur O'Connell, Betty Field, Eileen Heckart, Robert Bray, and Hope Lange.
A cowboy comes to town to participate in a rodeo, accompanied by an old friend. In a club he sees Marilyn singing and literally falls in love with her. He courts her in her own way, rude and childish, and she is scared of him. He forcefully puts her on a bus to take her to her ranch. The sermons of the wise old man are of no avail. The bus stops for supplies and the driver, who witnessed the incident, gives a sound lesson to the cowboy, who in the end is convinced that people cannot be forced to do something that he does not want to do. But just then the girl realizes that in her own way the cowboy loves her and that she herself feels something special. The two, very much in love, get on the bus to the ranch. The old friend, at that point, prefers to leave them alone.
